Brad Pitt Officially Signs on for “Inglorious Bastards”
The rumour that Brad Pitt was to star in Quentin Tarantino’s WWII drama “Inglorious Bastards” as Lt. Aldo Raine, leader of the titular bastards has finally been put to rest reports Variety.
But Pitt is not the only addition to Quentin Tarantino’s war movie. Simon Pegg is in talks to play a British Lieutenant; Nastassja Kinski has begun negotiations to play a German movie star; David Krumholtz (who will forever be Mr. Universe from Serenity to us) is likely to join the cast as one of Pitt’s lackies.
Eli Roth will play Sgt. Donnie Donowitz, and Tarantino is locking in the other actors to play the soldiers who make up the Bastards team. Tarantino regular Tim Roth had been in contention to join the cast but couldn’t work out the scheduling because of his upcoming TV series “Lie to Me.”
The film begins production on October 13 in Germany. Tarantino, who wrote the script, is aiming to complete the film and have it ready for next year’s Cannes Film Festival. Lawrence Bender is producing, with Erica Steinberg and Harvey and Bob Weinstein as executive producers.
Eli Roth Cast in “Inglorious Bastards”

Variety is reporting that “Hostel” director Eli Roth has boarded the Quentin Tarantino-directed “Inglorious Bastards” as a baseball bat-swinging Nazi hunter in the drama for the Weinstein Co. and Universal Pictures.
Brad Pitt is in talks to play Aldo Raine, leader of a rogue band of Jewish-American soldiers who wreak havoc on the bad guys in Nazi-occupied France.
Eli Roth wil play the part of Sgt. Donnie Donowitz. This is a pretty big coup for Eli Roth to be starring in a film along side the likes of Brad Pitt. We will have to wait and see how big the role is and how much of a part he plays in the films story. Read the rest of this entry

Leonardo DiCaprio as Captain America?
Leonardo DiCaprio is Marvel’s top choice to play Steve Rogers aka Captain America in the forthcoming superhero jaunt, says Latino Review.
Marvel, who previously announced plans to release First Avenger: Captain America on May 6, 2011, reportedly wants the Blood Diamond star to lead the film as US soldier-turned-superhero Steve Rogers.
Going further on the casting speculations, Latino Review also added that besides DiCaprio, there is one other name that is being considered to be Captain America. That particular person would be “Troy” star, Brad Pitt. Pitt, as had been reported previously, allegedly is on the run for the leading role of another Marvel’s superhero film “Thor“, which is set for June 4, 2010 release. Still, any confirmation on both Pitt’s possible casting reports has yet been outed.
On the superhero flick itself, “The First Avenger” is scheduled to be released on the silver screen on May 6, 2011. The movie has been said to stay true to its original comic book story. Hence, it will be set during World War II and tell the background story of the red, white and blue-costumed superhero. Additionally, no director has been signed for the project.
