Alice Eve or Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter in Captain America
Alice Eve seems to be one of the front-runners for the role along with Hayley Atwell for the role of the Captain America heroine named Peggy Carter.
We already wrote about this cast – madness, that included some well-known names like Keira Knightley and Emily Blunt, so we must say that in this point, nothing is sure, and the only thing we know is that both Eve and Atwell have screen-testing for the second time for the role in London.

Emily Blunt Won’t Play Peggy Carter In Captain America
Emily Blunt has turned down the female love interest part of Peggy Carter in an upcoming Hollywood project that we already talked about The First Avenger: Captain America.
The audition for this role included three British actresses: Keira Knightley, Alice Eve and Blunt, but now it’s official, Blunt passed on this role!
As you all know by now, the film has already suffered some casting issues, but the search for the female role continues.
Joe Johnston to Direct Captain America
Joe Johnston has signed on to direct Marvel Studios‘ “First Avenger: Captain America.”
Johnston is currently directing “The Wolfman,” which hits theaters on April 3. He is developing “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.” Johnston previously directed “October Sky“, “Jumanji“, “Jurassic Park III“, “The Rocketeer and Honey“, “I Shrunk the Kids“. Johnston won an Academy Award in 1982 for Best Visual Effects for “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. He now joins the ranks of Jon Favreau, Louis Leterrier, and Kenneth Branagh as Marvel’s dream team of directors set to turn bring the real Marvel universe to life in a series of films that will eventually converge in The Avengers in 2011.
The First Avenger: Captain America Synopsis
Marvel has released an official synopsis for “The First Avenger: Captain America.” Marvel is planning to keep the character true to his comic bookroots.
