Wall Street 2 Photos and Behind the Scenes Footage
Vanity Fair magazine did a photo shoot of the cast for “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” with the famous celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) remains an 1980s movie anti-hero/out-right bastard like no other. Nobody expected him to rear his head and return to the screen for a Wall Street sequel. Given the dire standards of greedy bankers and the world economy, he’s come back to haunt us and provide more capitalist aphorisms. Many shuddered when he uttered the immortal line, “Greed is good.” Many whooped and cheered.
The film’s plot mainly centers around Gordon Gekko acting as a more of an anti-hero rather than a villain, and follows his attempts to help Wall Street before its soon-to-be stock market crash, and to repair his relationship with his daughter Winnie (Mulligan); though all of his attempts are unsuccessful.
Sandra Bullock Top Money-Making Star of 2009
Sandra Bullock has been voted the Top Money-Making Star of 2009 in Quigley Publishing Company’s 78th Annual Poll of Exhibitors and is the first female to win since Julia Roberts in 1999. Bullock is the eighth woman chosen #1 in the Poll’s 78 year history. She appeared in three films in 2009, “The Blind Side,” “The Proposal” and “All About Steve.”
Johnny Depp placed second this year based on “Public Enemies” and a small role in “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.” He was #1 in 2006 and 2007. Matt Damon made his second appearance in the survey, placing #3 with 2009 roles in “Invictus” and “The Informant!” Although George Clooney, placing #4, has never won in his seven mentions in the Poll, he had an extremely productive year with “Up in the Air,” “The Men Who Stare at Goats” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox”(voice). Robert Downey Jr.’s performances in “Sherlock Holmes” and “The Soloist” helped him place #5. He was #2 in 2008.
Wall Street 2 Set Photos: Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf…
The Daily Mail has just posted the first photos of Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf and Frank Langella on the set of “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.” The film will also star Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Ferlito and Charlie Sheen. Oliver Stone is directing.
Set in New York City, the film takes place 20 years after the original, revolving around the 2008 stock market crash. The film’s plot mainly centers around Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) acting as a more of an anti-hero rather than a villain, and follows his attempts to help Wall Street before its soon-to-be stock market crash, and to repair his relationship with his daughter Winnie (Mulligan); though all of his attempts are unsuccessful.
Charlie Sheen Joins “Wall Street 2″
“Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” shooting begins this week in New York, 23 years after its predecessor – Oliver Stone‘s “Wall Street.”
“I thought it was a bubble that was over,” Mr. Stone said of the 1980s. “I thought those days were going to come to an end. The excess.”
The story finds Gordon Gekko finishing his prison sentence and attempting to reconcile with his estranged daughter. “Wall Street” could be a movie about second chances.
Susan Sarandon To Star In WALL STREET 2
Susan Sarandon will probably star in “Wall Street 2.”
Sarandon is negotiating to join “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” for 20th Century Fox.
She joins Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, Frank Langella and Carey Mulligan in the sequel to the 1987 “Wall Street” film. Josh Brolin is currently in talks to star in the film as well.
Carey Mulligan Joins Wall Street 2
Carey Mulligan will play Gordon Gekko’s daughter in “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.”
Mulligan joins Michael Douglas (Gekko), Shia LaBeouf and Frank Langella in the sequel to the 1987 “Wall Street” film.
Josh Brolin is currently in talks to star in the film as well.
Mulligan’s character is romantically linked to LaBeouf’s, a young Wall Street broker on his way up. Oscar nominated Langella (”Frost/Nixon”) will play Lewis Zabel, a mentor to Shia LaBeouf’s character. Michael Douglas will reprise his role as Gordon Gekko.
