New “Dragonball” Promo Pics

We already shared a few promo photos of Justin Chatwin as Goku and Emmy Rossum as Bulma before, but today we’ve come across a few more. Dbthemovie.com were able to get their hands on a few scans from the August issue of Jump Square magazine, featuring shots of Justin Chatwin, Emmy Rossum and Chow Yun-Fat.

Based on the popular Japanese manga created by Akira Toriyama, whose work spawned best selling graphic novels, video games and a phenomenally successful television series, Dragonball centers on the heroic Goku, a powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the Universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name.

“Dragonball” hits theaters on April 3rd, 2009.

John Woo’s ‘The War of the Red Cliff’ New Photos

John Woo will be developing his first Chinese-language film “The War of the Red Cliff” after 10 years.

Chow Yun Fat has been offered the starring role and that is the first time they have worked together since the classic ‘Hard Boiled‘ in 1992.

‘The War of the Red Cliff’ is movie with a budget of $36 million which is the most expensive ever in Chinese Cinema history.

“Red Cliff” is based on historical events that took place in China 1,700 years ago and on a chapter in the popular novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.” Some 600 years after its publication, the book is still widely read in China.

‘The War of the Red Cliff’ has 2 parts.

The first movie “The War of the Red Cliff,” is set to premiere July 10.

Production of the second movie is expected to wind up within the year, and is tentatively scheduled for a December release.

These days, John Woo and the cast, which includes Tony Leung, Chang Chen and Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-Ling, promote the films at 61st Cannes Film Festival. Read the rest of this entry

‘Dragonball’ Images Online

The first shot of Justin Chatwin as Goku and Emmy Rossum as Bulma from the upcoming “Dragonball” movie has appeared online. The picture is a scan from a Japanese magazine. DBTheMovie

Dragonball is adapted from the manga created by Akira Toriyama; the work was also turned into a Japanese anime series that played all over the world. It tells the story of an alien sent to destroy Earth, who has a change of heart and decides to join the humans in their fight against various aliens and bad guys.

In addition to Chatwin and Rossum, the film also stars Chow Yun-Fat as Roshi and James Marsters as the nefarious Piccolo. “Dragonball” hits theaters on April 3rd, 2009.
