Angelina Jolie in Unforgiven Written by Christopher McQuarrie
She is currently busy with her upcoming Bosnian war love drama (that we already reported about), and she already has a new project waiting for her! Damn, it’s nice to be Angelina Jolie in a Hollywood nowadays!
Usual Suspects scribe Christopher McQuarrie is currently working on a draft of a remake of Unforgiven, with Angelina Jolie in mind for the lead role in a story that follows:
“…Ruth, who has spent half of her life imprisoned, and now faces the daunting prospect of rebuilding her life whilst being irresistibly drawn to the place that haunts her, Upper Hanging Stones Farm.
In spite of trying to focus on the future and her new boyfriend Brad, Ruth is unable to forget her past and the sister, Katie, who she was forced to leave behind. Outraged to hear that the woman who killed their father has been released, Kieran and Steve Whelan are eager to seek revenge. Believing that life should mean life, the two brothers decide to take the law into their own hands.
But just how far are they capable of going? Can they really do to her what she did to their father? As the details about Ruth’s past become known, maintaining a job, friendship and a relationship become increasingly arduous. Ruth soon realises that the ramifications of her release spread further than she could have imagined, with far reaching implications for everyone involved.”
Hugh Jackman Out of Avon Man, In for Wolverine 2
Hugh Jackman‘s new decision goes like this: Avon Man is OUT, Wolverine is IN!
Australian actor has backed out of a role of “an unemployed car dealer who swaps motors for cosmetics and becomes Avon’s top selling door-to-door representative” to prepare for the next Wolverine blockbuster. Well, that, kind of, makes sense, right?
But he’s still involved with the Avon Man project as a producer, an who knows, maybe this kind of role would have been something interesting for a guy like Jackman.
Christopher McQuarrie To Re-Write and Direct One Shot Adaptation
Christopher McQuarrie, well-known Oscar-winning writer of The Usual Suspects, has been hired to rework the Paramount thriller One Shot, with an eye to direct the whole thing as well.
His directorial debut was with the 2000 film, The Way of the Gun and he hasn’t directed any additional films since then, so we guess this could be just the perfect time…
The project is based on a series of novels written by Lee Child that center on Jack Reacher, a military police officer-turned-drifter.
The story of One Shot, the ninth book in the series, centers on “Jack Reacher, a military police officer-turned-drifter. He’s not looking for trouble. Sometimes trouble looks for Reacher.
A lone gunman hides in a parking garage and shoots into a crowd in a public plaza in a small Indiana city. Five random people die in a senseless massacre. The shooter leaves a perfect trail behind him and the police quickly track him down. But that’s where the real tale begins.”
