Joker scene stays

Posted by Fiona 11 April, 2008 (0) Comment

JokerFor all Bat-fans: Don’t worry, cause Warner Brothers are not insisting that Christopher Nolan recut his film, The Dark Knight.

According to a source close to Movie Hole:

“I know for a fact that that scene is in the film. I also know that Warner Brothers has made no such mandate and that Chris [Nolan] is honest when saying that he will not change what was intended with The Joker.”

The reason the rumor started was because reports were that test audiences thought it was distasteful to show Heath Ledger’s character in that situation.

I guess they must have thought it was “too soon” for that to be shown to people.

Warner Brothers to cut Joker scenes from ‘Dark Knight’!?

Posted by Fiona 10 April, 2008 (0) Comment

According Cinema Blend there will be problems about particular scene from ‘Dark Knight‘, which due to the tragic death of Heath Ledger, may never see the light of day because of reactions in many of the screenings.

The scene involves Ledger’s Joker character pretending to be dead and being pictured in a body bag.

Christopher Nolan

Apparently the aftershocks of Ledger’s unfortunate death are such that many in the screening reacted rather badly to this moment and now execs are considering excising the scene altogether.

The Joker in ‘The Dark Knight’ is Ledger’s final complete role and fans already got ‘the promise’, Christopher Nolan said that all of Heath Ledger’s scenes as The Joker remain as they were before his tragic death.

“He was immensely proud of the work he did on the film”, said Nolan. “I feel a great burden to present that in an undistorted form.”
