The poster for the upcoming Anna Faris comedy “The House Bunny” has been released.

The House Bunny poster
In Columbia Pictures’ comedy “The House Bunny”, Anna Faris charms as Shelley Darlington, a Playboy Bunny who teaches an awkward sorority about the opposite sex – only to learn that what boys really like is what’s on the inside.
Though she has yet to pull off the look she achieved for her Maxim photo shoot — where she was rocking black hair — Faris has the uncanny ability of still looking hot while playing goofy.
The new comedy is directed by Fred Wolf, the man behind this year’s “Strange Wilderness.” “The House Bunny” is scheduled to hit theaters on August 22nd.
Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt to Join “2012″
Three more actors are coming aboard Roland Emmerich’s next apocalypse project. Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt are in discussions to join Columbia Pictures‘ epic disaster project, 2012.
The film centers on a global cataclysm and tells the heroic struggle of the survivors.
Glover will play the president, with Newton as his daughter. Oliver Platt will star as the president’s chief of staff. John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor already are on board.
Emmerich is directing a script he penned with his 10,000 B.C. co-writer Harald Kloser.
The studio is planning a July 10, 2009, release, with filming set to begin in July.
‘Flash Gordon’ Remake
‘Flash Gordon‘ remake may happen courtesy of Columbia Pictures. They’re in talks to acquire an adaptation with Breck Eisner attached to direct. Eisner is probably best known as the director of Sahara, a mediocre adventure movie starring a half-stoned Matthew McConaughey. No writers are on board to adapt.
“Flash” was originally a science fiction newspaper comic strip drawn by Alex Raymond in the 1930s and was created to compete with another sci-fi strip, “Buck Rogers.” The strip was first adapted to the screen via Buster Crabbe serials and made into a lavish 1980 film starring Sam Jones but remembered more for its Queen score. More recently, it was a Sci Fi Channel miniseries that was seen as a critical and ratings failure.
Storywise, Flash was an athlete who travels to the planet Mongo with his lady love, Dale Arden, and the mad scientist Dr. Hans Zarkov. There, they discover a world ruled by Ming the Merciless and meet such strange inhabitants as the Hawkmen and the Sharkmen.

Tom Cruise’s Son Connor to Appear in Film

The 13-year-old son of Tom Cruise, Connor is following in his father’s footsteps.
Connor Cruise, the adopted son of Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman, has a minor, non-speaking part in the upcoming Will Smith drama “Seven Pounds,” a spokesman for Columbia Pictures confirmed Tuesday.
Connor Cruise shot his part over two days more than a month ago, playing Smith as a young man and mostly shown in photographs.
The movie, which is still in production, co-stars Rosario Dawson and is directed by “The Pursuit of Happyness” filmmaker Gabriele Muccino. The drama follows the story of a man who affects the lives of seven strangers.
Calls and e-mails to publicists for Kidman and Tom Cruise were not immediately returned Tuesday.
Cruise and Kidman also have an adopted daughter, 15-year-old Isabella. Kidman is pregnant with her first child with hubby singer Keith Urban.
