Joan Cusack And John Goodman Join ‘Shopaholic’

Joan Cusack And John GoodmanJoan Cusack and John Goodman have signed to join Isla Fisher on Touchstone Pictures’ comedy “Confessions of a Shopaholic.” Hugh Darcy and Krysten Ritter will also appear in the film.Variety reports the film is an adaptation of Sophie Kinsella’s bestselling novel. P.J. Hogan is set to direct the film with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. The film is scheduled to shoot in New York and Connecticut. Goodman and Cusack have signed to play the parents of Fisher’s character.

The film’s story follows a woman dealing with the stress of credit card debt while working in the New York magazine world.

‘The Visitor’ New Trailer

In The Visitor, the great Richard Jenkins stars as a disillusioned Connecticut economics professor named Walter Vale, whose life is change by a chance encounter in New York City.

In its best moments, the film is a celebration of the transformative power of music, as elderly, worn down Walter learns the drums from an energetic and likable illegal immigrant, and the trailer does its best to highlight that. It’s also a meditation on the issue of immigration, and though that’s only lightly touched on in the trailer.

Fortunately, ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ won’t be in that group as the hottest comedy name in the film industry delivers yet another rom com that will mean a return hospital visit for a side splitting stitch up.

The spotlight zips across to another of the ‘Knocked Up’ crew this time as Jason Segel plays Peter, who gets his heart shot to schnitzel when his smokin hot celebrity girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) gives him the boot.
