IGN’s Summer Movie Awards 2011
IGN Entertainment, the world’s leading video games media company, announced today its 2011 Summer Movie Awards, which celebrates action, sci-fi and guy-centric movies that have hit theatres since May. Winners on the fourth annual list include X-Men: First Class, which took seven honors, including “Best Summer Movie,” and Hugh Jackman, winner in the category of “Favorite Cameo.”
After more than 150,000 votes by IGN fans, X-Men: First Class was also awarded in the category of “Best Comic Book Movie.” This was the first time the public voted on a category for the Summer Movie Awards. Other nominees in this category included Thor, Priest, Green Lantern, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Cowboys & Aliens.
Three New COWBOYS & ALIENS Character Posters
Universal Pictures has released three character posters for Cowboys & Aliens, an upcoming sci-fi and Western mash-up film from Iron Man director, Jon Favreau.
Favreau directs Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford in an event film for summer 2011 that crosses the classic Western with the alien-invasion movie in a blazingly original way: “Cowboys & Aliens.” Joined by an arsenal of top moviemakers—Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci—he brings an all-new action thriller that will take audiences into the Old West, where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world.

Here’s the new clip for Daniel Craig’s latest movie, “Cowboys & Aliens“. Also starring Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Noah Ringer, Sam Rockwell, Ana de la Reguera, Adam Beach, Clancy Brown, Paul Dano, Keith Carradine and Abigail Spencer.
The film, based on Scott Mitchell Rosenberg‘ graphic novel created in 2006, is about a lone cowboy (Jake Lonergan played by Daniel Craig) who must collaborate with his former adversaries; the native indians to lead an uprising againest an extraterrestrial invasion. However Jake has a mysterious shackle around one wrist that makes him unwelcome in a desert town who need him to bring them to salvation.
Robert Downey Jr. to play Zeke Jackson in ‘Cowboys and Aliens’
Robert Downey Jr. has been rumored to be reprising his role in “The Avengers” as well as to be considered in depicting Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner in “Playboy“. Now, the acclaimed actor is reported to be eyeing another movie project.
Robert Downey Jr. has been said to be in final negotiation to star in a developed action fantasy movie entitled, “Cowboys and Aliens“. If the negotiation goes through, he will portray a former Union Army gunslinger called Zeke Jackson.
