Knight To Adapt Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol”

Columbia Pictures will be making “The Lost Symbol,” the third film in “The Da Vinci Code” franchise.

Oscar-nominated writer Steven Knight (“Dirty Pretty Things”) has been hired to adapt Dan Brown‘s latest thriller.

The follow-up to “The Da Vinci Code” and “Angels & Demons” – “The Lost Symbol,” centres on Langdon decoding the symbols of the Freemasons and this time the story is set in America, not Europe.

Based on Dan Brown’s novel “Angels and Demons,” published in 2000, the upcoming Ron Howard’s movie follows Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon to analyze a mysterious symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist.

The same story again – the movie was reported to have angered the Vatican because of its content, and was banned from using certain church properties for filming.

Author Dan Brown (“Angels & Demons”, “Da Vinci Code”) and Doubleday Publishing have announced that the next installment of the Da Vinci Code series, “The Lost Symbol.”

No plot details were announced but the novel was in production under the title “The Solomon Key,” again features the fictional, mystery-solving Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon and will reportedly focus on the mysterious Freemasons.

Columbia Pictures has released the official teaser trailer for the upcoming highly anticipated “Angels & Demons,”which is based on a bestselling novel by Dan Brown.

Tom Hanks will reprise his role ( Da Vinci Code) as the Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon. Ron Howard again directs the film, which is produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and John Calley. The screenplay is by David Koepp and Akiva Goldsman.
