Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson To Join James McAvoy In Danny Boyle’s Trance
Another remake is coming, and this time it’s going to be a remake of the 2001 British TV movie titled Trance.
Interesting or not, this project definitely got our attention because of all that great names that are already being rumored for the possible roles.
On the other hand, we’re also interested to see how director Danny Boyle will handle this thriller. So, let’s start our little chat.
Trance or formerly ‘Trances’ will follow an art heist that goes wrong when the mastermind behind the mission is injured and suffers from amnesia.
James McAvoy in Early Talks to Star in Danny Boyle‘s Trance
Instead Michael Fassbender as the likely choice for Simon the gang leader, his X-Men: First Class legion James McAvoy is in early talks to join Danny Boyle’s new thriller Trance. In other words, Professor X is taking over a job originally set for Magneto.
Michael Fassbender In Negotiations To Star In Danny Boyle’s Trances
Michael Fassbender’s negotiations to be the first actor to get on Danny Boyle’s welcome return to his roots of edgy fast-paced thriller, Trances, sound promising.
Original Trance is 2001 TV drama by Joe Ahearne focused on Tony (John Light) who works in an auction house, where he is regularly surrounded by valuable works of art. Enlisting the help of questionable character Brendan (Neil Pearson) and his fellows, Tony manages to formulate a plan to steal a priceless Goya painting. But things get worse when the attempted heist leaves Tony concussed, and Brendan with a poster reproduction of no value.
Beaufoy and Boyle to Adapt Sharp Teeth
Simon Beaufoy, 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire writer, is currently writing on an adaptation of a book by Toby Barlow titled Sharp Teeth.
But what’s also interesting about this project, is the fact that Beaufoy is hoping that Danny Boyle will jump onboard, too.
The whole thing revolves around werewolves in gangland Los Angeles, and for the rest of the details, check out the rest of this report.
In an interview with BBC Beaufoy revealed:
“It’s an adaptation of a book by a writer called Toby Barlow and it’s a very extraordinary mix of gangland Los Angeles, really, really rough – a lot of shootings – and the difference with this particular piece of work is that these gangs can shape-shift at will into packs of dogs.”
127 Hours of James Franco
James Franco is extremely busy at the moment, what with doing the promotional rounds for the upcoming releases of Your Highness and Howl. He will also be co hosting the Oscars when they roll around on February 27 and has reportedly been approached for the Linda Lovelace biopic. Wow!
Actor/director/writer/painter/Oscar host James Franco was recently stopped at Sundance to discuss his latest film and Best Picture nominee 127 Hours. He assured us excitedly:
I know I’m biased; I think it’s the most innovative movie this year. “127 Hours” is about a guy — one single character in a single place. That is like the cutting edge of moviemaking. Short of, like, doing it in 3-D or something. I think [“127 Hours”] is perfect.
However, he certainly has this right: “127 Hours,” a movie about a Colorado adventurer’s near-fatal ordeal in a Utah desert wilderness, was nominated Tuesday for the best-picture Oscar, and its star, James Franco himself, earned a best-actor nod as well. The film received six Oscar nominations overall, as you know. The movie was based in Ralston’s book about his ordeal, “Between a Rock and a Hard Place.”
BAFTA 2011 Film Award Nominees
And what do we have now, after Golden Globes? The King’s Speech, The Social Network, Black Swan, Inception…?
But will the results be the same? We’ll see at BAFTA ceremony on February 13, two weeks before the Oscar.
Ok, we must notice that BAFTA offers more movie titles and names such as The Girl with Dragon Tattoo and Noomi Rapace (finally), The Secret in Their Eyes (El secreto de sus ojos ), True Grit and Jeff Bridges and much more if we dare to compare recent Golden Globes with Bafta’s decency.
Ricky Gervais showed us that he enjoyed his job and jokes. Perhaps, he offended just a couple of individuals, but one thing is for sure – he made the Golden Globes relevant at least for a while.
It will be interesting to find out who will get the Rising Star Award, voted for by the public, but i’m already amused with the names of the rising stars that managed to get the nomination.
If you ask me Tom Hardy already IS the star as well as Aaron Johnson and …all of them?
Ok, ok…nobody asked me…
