20th Century Fox Lands Machete!
Deadline Hollywood Daily’s Nikki Finke is reporting that 20th Century Fox has bested five other studios in a bidding war to distribute independently-financed Robert Rodriguez‘ “Machete,” an expansion of the fake trailer that he created for Quentin Tarantino and his experimental film “Grindhouse”
First PREDATORS Set Photos
Today we have the first photos from the set of Nimrod Antal‘s “Predators” remake being produced by Robert Rodriguez.
A reboot of the cult sci-fi action serie follows a group of elite warrior-types who are being hunted by members of a race of merciless alien trackers called Predators. Adrien Brody is a man who ends up inheriting the mantle of leader and is known as a hunter of men. Topher Grace is an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer. Alice Braga is the tough female killer. Mahershalalhashbaz Ali is a man not afraid to die, Walton Goggins is the loose canon of the group and Oleg Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent. Danny Trejo is Cuchillo, a hardened warrior with twin Uzis strapped to his back.

A new poster for Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez‘s “Machete” is currently on display at the American Film Market (AFM), and it features a look at Jessica Alba as Sartana. Check it out below.
“Machete” is based on the “fake” trailer in Rodriguez’s 2007 Grindhouse. The highly skilled Federale Machete (Danny Trejo) is hired by some unsavory types to assassinate a senator. But just as he’s about to take the shot, he notices someone aiming at him and realizes he’s been set up. He barely survives the sniper’s bullet, and is soon out for revenge on his former employers, with the reluctant assistance of his old friend Cheech Marin, who has become a priest and taken a vow of nonviolence. If you hire him to take out the bad guys, make sure the bad guys aren’t you!

Empire has debuted a brand new image from upcoming action film “The Expendables“, starring and directed by Sylvester Stallone who explained where he got the title…
“It’s from Rambo 2. The girl I’m falling in love with says, “Why do you do what you do?” I say, “I’m expendable.” She says, “What does that mean?” I say, “It’s like someone invites you to a party and you don’t show up. It doesn’t really matter.” And these men, they live a life that… They’re expendable. If they’re gone, the world will go on. No one will miss them.
Danny Trejo to Star in Predators, Script Details Unveiled
In a story from Punch Drunk Critics, Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn) has revealed that he will star in Nimrod Antal‘s forthcoming sci-fi action film “Predators.”
Trejo has just wrapped production on “Machete,” the feature film based on the faux trailer that ran with “Grindhouse” and that Robert Rodriguez thought of making after an impressive demand from the fan community. He has also confirmed rumors of “Sin City 2,” saying that he has been approached for a part, but that his management is still negotiating with the movie studio.
During their chat the actor stated:
“We’re doing Predators next.”

The first trailer for Stallone’s “The Expendables” has hit the Internet. It’s the bootleg teaser from Venice Film Festival 2009.
“The Expendables,” written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, is about a team of mercenaries led by Barney Ross (Stallone). The team consists of Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Bao (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), and Emanuel (Mickey Rourke), who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Jeff Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Cheech Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
