Ron Howard to Direct Spy vs. Spy

Spy vs. Spy

This is definitely Ron Howard week! At least, when it comes to our reports, because every single day we hear something new about Howard’s future plans.

It was Rush yesterday, and today we’re here to let you know that Howard is also attached to direct live-action project titled Spy vs. Spy, based on the comic strip of the same name that appeared in Mad Magazine and on “MADtv.”

Thanks to Deadline we learned that this live-action bigscreen version is moving forward at Warner Bros and that David Koepp will produce with Howard and his Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer.

Men in Black 3 to be Released in 2012, Will Smith Confirmed

Columbia Pictures has officially signed Will Smith for Men in Black 3. The studio has also already signed director Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) and has scheduled to the 3D movie to open on May 25th, 2012.

Walter F. Parkes and Laurie McDonald are returning to produce with Steven Spielberg executive producing. Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) wrote the script, which underwent a polish by David Koepp (Spider-Man)..

According to the studio, Tommy Lee Jones is in advance negotiations to reprise his role as Agent Kay and Josh Brolin is in talks to star as a “young” Agent Kay.

The Taking of Pelham 123 - John Travolta

Today, we have trailer, three posters and several photos for the upcoming “The Taking of Pelham 123” remake, starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta.

In “The Taking of Pelham 123,” Denzel Washington stars as New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber, whose ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train. John Travolta stars as Ryder, the criminal mastermind who, as leader of a highly-armed gang of four, threatens to execute the train’s passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour. As the tension mounts beneath his feet, Garber employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder and save the hostages. But there’s one riddle Garber can’t solve: even if the thieves get the money, how can they possibly escape?

Two new photos from upcoming “Da Vince Code” sequel, called “Angels & Demons” has popped online. ABC also revealed a new behind-the-scenes video for the film. The video contains lots of footage from the film and a explanation of the Illuminati.

Tom Hanks will reprise his role ( Da Vinci Code) as the Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon. Ron Howard again directs the film, which is produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and John Calley. The screenplay is by David Koepp and Akiva Goldsman.

Angels & Demons Viral: Secret Message in Teaser Trailer

Two days ago, Sony released the teaser trailer for “Angels & Demons,” the followup to Dan Brown‘s highly successful book/movie The Da Vinci Code.

Hidden in the trailer is an ambigram (reads the same thing upside down as upside right) of Illuminati that also figures heavily in the plot of the book/movie. Digging a little deeper, there’s actually a hidden message in the letters of the ambigram. With a few steps in Photoshop, the words “Altars of Science” is clearly visible.

Second poster for the upcoming “Ghost Town” comedy, starring Ricky Gervais, Tea Leoni and Greg Kinnear has been released, featuring a shot of Gervais being bothered by a Kinnear’s ghost.

In the comedy “Ghost Town”, Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais) is a man whose people skills leave much to be desired. When Pincus dies unexpectedly, but is miraculously revived after seven minutes, he wakes up to discover that he now has the annoying ability to see ghosts. Even worse, they all want something from him, particularly Frank Herlihy (Greg Kinnear), who pesters him into breaking up the impending marriage of his widow Gwen (Tea Leoni).
