“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Gets The Green Light!
The fourth saga in the Twilight Series, “Breaking Dawn” is going back to it’s roots and will be filmed in Portland, Oregon. David Slade is directing “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse“, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. In addition, a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for “Breaking Dawn.” Karen Rosenfelt, daughter of former MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt, served as Producer on both “Twilight” and on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse“. She did not work on “New Moon“, but is producing “Breaking Dawn” through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.
There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the fourth novel in the series due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating. Inside sources confirm that Breaking Dawn may be filmed and released in two parts – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I“, and “Part II“. Although this has not been confirmed officially by Summit, author Stephenie Meyer has stated,
“It would have to be made into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes”.

Bryce Dallas Howard Joins “Eclipse”
Bryce Dallas Howard (”Terminator Salvation,” “Spider-Man 3,” “Lady in the Water” “The Village”) has joined the cast of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the third installment in Summit Entertainment’s vampire franchise. She replaces Rachelle Lefevre as the character of Victoria.
Lefevre played the role of Victoria in “Twilight” and appears in the upcoming sequel “New Moon,” but scheduling conflicts forced her to leave the picture.
“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise. Rachelle brought Victoria to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s president of worldwide production and acquisitions.

David Slade Will Direct Twilight Eclipse
Summit Entertainment announced today that David Slade has been hired to direct “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the third installment of the series based on the best-selling teenage supernatural romance novels by Stephenie Meyer. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. Slade’s credits include “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night.”
Melissa Rosenberg, who penned the adaptations of “Twilight” and its sequel, “New Moon,” will also script “Eclipse.”
Stephenie Meyer herself release a quote, saying:
I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing “Eclipse”. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that “Eclipse” will be carrying on with that tradition.
Erik Feig adds:
Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Eclipse’ is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds.
