By Fiona | Jul 1, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Drew BarrymoreWell, it definitely looks like Drew Barrymore is quite serious about her future projects. Apparently, she’s now busy with another novel adaptation, Ally Carter‘s Heist Society for Warner Bros.

Barrymore is also attached to produce the project that is already being described as young adult thriller together with Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan.

So, as you see, enough reasons for us to start a little chat about the whole thing.

At this moment we know that screenwriter Shauna Cross, who previously worked with Barrymore on Whip It, is set to adapt Carter’s novel while Barrymore will also supervise the writing.

According to THR, Warner Bros. is aging the characters a notch into their early 20s.

At least not when it comes to some new Hollywood projects, because she’s going to direct an adaptation of Liz Tuccillo’s novel titled How to Be Single. Romantic comedy? What the hell, I’m interested!

So, this will be Barrymore’s second feature film that will follow “love lives and break-ups of a group of New Yorkers over the span of ten years.”

Ok, it sounds familiar, but we have an interesting team on board! The whole thing will be written by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, and, as you see, this new project is a reteaming of the He’s Just Not That Into You team – Barrymore and production partner Nancy Juvonen produced that movie while Silverstein and Kohn wrote the script.
