Filming sequels ‘back-to-back’ (The Matrix, Harry Potter) is common in the science fiction and adventure genres. Since the third installment of Transformers has had enormous financial success (earned $1.1 billion) it’s just a right time for Par to greenlight such project, although the studio has never shot sequels in such a way. Paramount licenses Transformers film rights from Hasbro and Hasbro’s top man Brian Goldner revealed it Monday speaking on his company’s third-quarter earnings conference call.

Paramount Pictures has just unveiled a brand new Transformers: Dark of the Moon TV spot which aired during the Daytona 500 this weekend. This TV spot follows the one that we saw a few weeks ago on Superbowl Sunday and shows us a little more footage.

Shia LaBeouf returns in the films leading role alongside actors Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, Alan Tudyk, and John Turturro.

New Scream 4 Trailer

Fans of the Woodsboro Ghostface Killer will be thrilled to watch the brand new trailer for the upcoming Scream 4. All the rules from the previous films are null and void in the forth installment of the franchise. The virgins shall no more be harmed, and Sydney Prescot, she’s food for the killer(s) as well. Scream 4 re-unites Wes Craven with the survivors of the original trilogy.

Despite a production as Calamity Jane and Kevin Williamson being replaced by Scream 3 hack Ehren Kruger fans and audiences alike will have good cheer for this fourth stab at the material.

Synopsis:

Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. She reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courteney Cox), who are now married, along with her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) and her aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unluckily Sidney’s appearance also lead to the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, likewise Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro at risk.

Orci and Kurtzman Not Returning To Write Transformers 3

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, Transformers 3

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (The Island, The Legend of Zorro, Mission: Impossible III), after writing the first two, will not be returning to the script duties for “Transformers 3.”

Orci made a post on the Don Murphy forum saying he and Kurtzman won’t be involved with the third film. That means that Ehren Kruger (Scream 3, The Ring, The Ring Two, The Brothers Grimm), who also worked on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen script, will be going it alone on part three, laboring under the iron fist of director Michael Bay.

Transformers 3 confirmed for 2011

Michael Bay has confirmed on his website a summer 2011 release date for “Transformers 3.”

Bay claims they have a “great Transformers 3 story” and that he’s currently en route to Rhode Island with screenwriter Ehren Kruger (Transformers 2, Blood and Chocolate, The Brothers Grimm, Ring I, II) to chat up Hasbro and figure out which new robots will make their way into the third installment
