”The Stone Angel” – New Poster, Trailer, Plot…
A new poster for the upcoming “The Stone Angel” film, starring Ellen Burstyn, Cole Hauser and Ellen Page, has been released. The movie is based on the best selling novel by Margaret Laurence.
Ellen Page will play Jane Eyre
Ellen Page will play one of English literature’s most famous characters, the eponymous heroine of Charlotte Bronte‘s Jane Eyre.
Alison Owen of Ruby Films has teamed up with BBC Films for the latest version of Charlotte Bronte’s 1847 book.
The story revolves around a shy orphan who finds work as a governess at Thornfield Manor, where she falls in love with brooding employer Edward Rochester.
Moira Buffini has written the screenplay. Owen’s previous credits include The Other Boleyn Girl.
No director is yet attached.
Alison Lohman Instead Ellen Page in ‘Drag Me to Hell’
As Ellen Page step out from ‘Drag Me to Hell’, it was reported that Alison Lohman is set to step into the part left by the “Juno” star.
Lohman will take over the lead character in the Universal Pictures’ horror project.
In the film, Lohman will be acting under the direction of Sam Raimi. She is scheduled to join the production which has been pushed back to March 31. Originally, the shooting of the film should begin on March 17.
She has starring in many feature films: ‘White Oleander’ (opposite Michelle Pfeiffer), ‘Matchstick Men’, ‘Big Fish’, ‘Beowulf’ and ‘Things We Lost in the Fire’.
Kodi Smit-McPhee to drop out ‘Wolverine’
Just when it seemed that all the pieces were falling into place for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the change in shooting schedules on director Gavin Hood’s Logan Year One tale has forced newbie Kodi Smit-McPhee to drop out of playing the youngling adamantium-clawed wild thing.
Already committed to John Hillcoat’s adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy thriller The Road (alongside Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron), the oddly monikered newcomer has seen the coveted superhero mantle passed over to equally bizarrely named pretender, Troye Mellet.
Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut
Ellen Page will follow up her star-making turn in ’Juno’ by starring in ’Whip It!’ which marks Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut.
Natalie Portman’s doing it, Kirsten Dunst and Scarlett Johansson, also, so why wouldn’t Drew Barrymore want to direct her own film?
The film is called ’Whip It!’ and in the film Ellen Page will star as a high school addict dependent on the nitrous oxide canisters commonly referred to as whipits.
’I really admire how Drew constantly challenges herself as an artist’, Page said. ’She’s proven herself as an actress and a producer, and I have no doubt she’ll bring great vision and creativity to the director’s chair. I can’t wait to kick ass on wheels!’
The flick, pened by Shauna Cross, will begin shooting in the summer in Texas.
