Watch The New Final Destination 5 Trailer
Warner Bros has unleashed the second trailer for their upcoming horror film Final Destination 5.
The second of the “Final Destination” films shot in 3-D, Final Destination 5 is directed by Steve Quale. The screenplay is written by Eric Heisserer, with revisions by Gary Dauberman; Heisserer is no stranger to the horror genre, having penned New Line’s recent hit A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Final Destination 5 brings together an ensemble cast that includes Bell and D’Agosto, along with Miles Fisher (TV’s “Mad Men” and “Gossip Girl”), Arlen Escarpeta (Friday the 13th), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (TV’s “The Bold and the Beautiful”), P.J. Byrne (Dinner for Schmucks) and Ellen Wroe (TV’s “Huge”). Rounding out the rest of the cast are Courtney B. Vance (TV’s “FlashForward,” “ER”), David Koechner (”The Office,” Anchorman) and “Final Destination” franchise icon Tony Todd (Hatchet II).

Warner Bros has released yet another poster – another spin on the skull motif, for the upcoming horror film Final Destination 5.
In this installment starring Nick D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, P.J. Byrne, Ellen Wroe, Courtney B. Vance, David Koechner and Tony Todd., “Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.”
A Nightmare on Elm Street Review
Yes, A Nightmare on Elm Street is the best remake Platinum Dunes has produced, but the reason behind that is also the film’s handicap. For the most part, Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer’s screenplay hems incredibly close to Craven’s original. There comes a point in the film, however, where staying faithful to the source material becomes a bit too problematic. Mainstream audiences, particularly those who didn’t grow up with Krueger, will be unaffected, but horror fans may soon grow bored with the lack of individuality in the scripting department. And then just as the film threatens to overthrow its predecessor by changing (for the better) Krueger’s origin story, it backs off, once again sacrificing innovation for tradition…read more [Hollywood.com]
The Thing Prequel to Film in March
Universal Pictures’ prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 cult classic thriller “The Thing” is due to begin filming March and continue filming through June.
Netherlands producer Matthias van Heijningen Jr. will direct from a script by Ronald D. Moore (the TV remake of Battlestar Galactica) and Eric Heisserer (the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street).
