First Set Photos from Total Recall
The Columbia Pictures remake Total Recall is shooting this week the Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada, and a bunch of set photos have hit the web.
According to THR, the plot of this Len Wiseman (Underwold) version will swing from Mars back to the Earth. In the 1990 original, a man haunted by a recurring dream of voyaging to Mars buys a virtual dream trip from a company called Rekall Inc. and when he awakens he deems that he’s a secret agent destined to defeat a corrupt official scheming the production of air on Mars. THR says the new story will get rid of the Martian storyline and in its place involve nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Farrell) a factory worker who starts thinking he’s a spy, although he wasn’t sure for which side.
Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel in Total Recall Officially, Bill Nighy In Talks
Total Recall remake is coming, and as usual, we’re here to share the latest casting updates with you. By now, you already know that Colin Farrell, Ethan Hawke and Bryan Cranston are all set to star in the upcoming Columbia’s remake, and now, it looks that Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel are on board as well. As the female leads, of course.
Surprise? Not exactly. At least not when it comes to Beckinsale. After all, her husband Len Wiseman is in charge for directing the whole thing, so, it’s quite logical that she’s on board as the female lead – Lori.
As for Jessica Biel, she’s not bad choice at all, especially for the other female lead, character named Melina.

Ethan Hawke Boarding Total Recall Remake
If by any chance Ethan Hawke’s favorite director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Brooklyn’s Finest) was at the helm of this actioner, it’s unlikely that born Texan will make only a cameo appearance – since it just could not have happened Hawk will next be seen in the role of minor characters in the remake of Total Recall.

Malin Akerman Joins Ethan Hawke for The Numbers Station
Lovely Swedish actress Malin Akerman has joined the cast of the CIA thriller The Numbers Station, which already has Ethan Hawke attached to star.
The film will be directed by Danish filmmaker Kasper Barfoed who you probably remember from title The Candidate and is also attached to Hammer’s Wake project.
Barfoed is directing from an F. Scott Frazier script, and the story centers on “a disgraced black ops agent tasked with a dead-end job of protecting a young woman in the middle of the Nevada desert.
When the two come under attack, they have to fight to stay alive.” No hard to guess that Hawke will play “disgraced black ops agent” while Akerman will play a young woman.
Daybreakers Review

The concept behind “Daybreakers” is reminiscent of “I Am Legend.” No, not the movie with Will Smith, but the book. In the near future, vampires have become the dominant society on the planet. Grocery stores are no longer relevant as human blood is the only form of nourishment that the vampires require. A vampire by the name of Charles Bromley (Sam Neill) is the head of a company that specializes in farming humans for their blood. The problem is that humans are nearing extinction and there aren’t that many of them left to farm. To keep his company afloat, he enlists the help of a scientist named Edward (Ethan Hawke) to come up with a blood supplement. Time and time again, Edward (poor choice of name) attempts to find another way of nourishing the vampire race, but fails…read more [BadGuyWins]
Usually guts and gore isn’t my thing. Horror films often fill me with concern over who is going to clean up the mess and as such, I tend to leave the more gnarly film reviews to our resident horror hound Sebastian Cordoba. But I decided to review new Australian vampire flick Daybreakers myself because it’s home grown content and I was keen to see what our fellow countrymen did with the vampire theme.
I must admit I was fearful – blood-sucking films are a dime a dozen at the moment and I was afraid that this film would simply be a shameful grab for a bite of the vampire pie. But thankfully Daybreakers is a shining light in this rather dimly lit genre…read more [TheVine]
