Warner Bros has released two brand new featurettes for the upcoming adventure film “Where The Wild Things Are“.

Adapted from a children book of the same name by Maurice Sendak, “Where The Wild Things Are” revolves around imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max. Being sent to his room without supper, the disobedient little boy creates a forest inhabited by many large imaginary monsters, who crown him their ruler. Befriending a large monster named Carol, he soon learns the meaning of love.

“Where The Wild Things Are” Synopsis: “Innovative director Spike Jonze collaborates with celebrated author Maurice Sendak to bring one of the most beloved books of all time to the big screen in “Where the Wild Things Are,” a classic story about childhood and the places we go to figure out the world we live in. The film tells the story of Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. Max lands on an island where he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions. The Wild Things desperately long for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. Max soon finds, though, that ruling his kingdom is not so easy and his relationships there prove to be more complicated than he originally thought.”

A brand new trailer for “Where the Wild Things Are“, adapted by Academy Award-nominated director Spike Jonze from the best selling book by author Maurice Sendak, has now been released.

The film follows the adventure of Max (Max Records), a mischievous young boy who is sent to his room after rebelling against his mother (Catherine Keener). Max’s imagination is free to roam, and it soon transports him to a thriving forest bordering a vast sea. Delighted, he sets sail for the land of the Wild Things, where mischief reigns and Max rules. In bringing this imaginative fantasy to life, Jonze leads a team of filmmakers incorporating the most dynamic elements of voice performance, live-action puppetry and computer animation.

Scheuring To Direct Remake Of German “Das Experiment”

Forest Whitaker, Adrien Brody, Elijah Wood and Cam Gigandet will star in “The Experiment,” a remake of the 2001 German psychological thriller “Das Experiment.”

“Das Experiment,” directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, centered on a group of ordinary men recruited to take on the roles of guards and prisoners as part of a research study and examined how the effects of assigned roles, power and control affected the participants.

Paul Scheuring, “Prison Break” creator, will direct from his screenplay.

Brody will portray the de facto leader of the prisoners while Whitaker will play a guard who’s corrupted by the power he’s given.

Filming begins in Iowa next month.

Brody’s recent credits include “Cadillac Records” and “The Brothers Bloom.”

Whitaker stars in the upcoming “Where the Wild Things Are,” “Repossession Mambo” and “My Own Love Song.” He’s also set to star in, direct and co-write the Louis Armstrong biopic “What a Wonderful World.”

Forest Whitaker Set for What a Wonderful World, Louis Armstrong biopic

Forest Whitaker is set to direct and star in “What a Wonderful World” – which is based on the life of Louis Armstrong.

It’s been twenty years since Forest Whitaker first got under the skin of a true jazz great, with his wonderful turn as Charlie Parker in Clint Eastwood’s “Bird.”

The film will be called “What a Wonderful World” based on Armstrong’s well known song and will chronicle the musician’s life from his impoverished early days in New Orleans to his death in 1971 following a long career over which he transformed jazz and popular music as a whole.

Whitaker’s last outing behind the camera was on the forgettable family comedy, “First Daughter.” That was before he won an Oscar for “The Last King Of Scotland,” of course – and it looks like he’s using his newfound clout well, by directing a true passion project. Continue Reading…

‘Vantage Point’ On February 22

In Columbia Pictures’ “Vantage Point,” Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox), are two Secret Service agents assigned to protect President Ashton (William Hurt) at a landmark summit on the global war on terror.

When President Ashton is shot moments after his arrival in Spain, chaos ensues and disparate lives collide. In the crowd is Howard Lewis (Forest Whitaker) an American tourist video taping the historic event to show his kids when he returns home.

Also there is Rex (Sigourney Weaver) an American TV news producer who is reporting on the conference. It’s only as we follow each person’s perspective of the same 15 minutes prior to and immediately after the shooting that the terrifying truth behind the assassination attempt is revealed.
