The Last Stand, yeah, it’s been awhile, but today we’re here for a little update! And trust me, you’re going to love this one, because it looks that we have some serious cast on board for the whole thing.
Forest Whitaker and Johnny Knoxville have signed on to star next to Arnold Schwarzenegger, while the rest of the cast includes Eduardo Noriega, Harry Dean Stanton, Rodrigo Santoro, Zach Gilford, Jamie Alexander and Luis Guzman. It’s not bad at all!
As you already know, Kim Jee-Woon is directing The Last Stand from a spec script by Andrew Knauer that was subsequently rewritten by Jeffrey Nachmanoff.
Anthony Mackie and Forest Whitaker in Voodoo Thriller Vipaka
Hey, guys, did you hear Forest Whitaker and Anthony Mackie have teamed up alongside Sanaa Lathan to star in what is being called a voodoo-themed psychological thriller titled Vipaka, which Whitaker will be also running from a production standpoint.
Yep, and the voodoo project will be directed by French/Lebanese helmer Phillipe Caland, who previously collaborated with Whitaker on The Ripple Effect.
Dana Delany Joins DeNiro, 50 Cent in Crime Drama Freelancers
The actress who attracted television audiences in their millions has joined the cast of indie crime drama feature Freelancers – a multi-award winning Dana Delany will star opposite Robert DeNiro, Curtis “50 Cent” Jacskon and Beau Garrett. Deadline previously added that Forest Whitaker’s in talks to join a slew of big names.
Freelancers is the story of the son (Jackson) of a murdered NYPD cop who joins the police academy, graduates, and gets recruited by a group of rogue cops that’s infected the force and led by his father’s old partner (De Niro). Delany will play a woman from his past.
Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker Set for 50 Cent’s Police Drama Freelancers
Robert DeNiro, who is still one of the utmost actors, but unfortunately just cashing another paycheque in Limitless role, has just signed up for his second 50 Cent movie named Freelancers.
Deadline reports that the superstar, once known for such a films like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, will star in Freelancers, the first flick since Righteous Kill that will see him performing opposite G-Unit’s most famous member.
Forest Whitaker (Bird, Ghost Dog) is also in talks to join the movie, which is developed by 50 Cent’s production company Cheetah Vision, co-founded by Fiddy and Randall Emmett.
