Keanu Reeves Bares Wish to Sing and Dance on Film

Keanu ReevesKeanu Reeves has built his career on tense action films like Speed, the Matrix and his latest, Street Kings.So, for his next project he’s looking for a change of pace - by starring in a musical.

“I’d like to, yes,” Reeves told.

“(I want to do) the whole shebang - singing, dancing, some romance.

“For now, though, Reeves is in Australia promoting Street Kings by director David Ayer and co-starring Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie and Chris Evans.

Reeves plays veteran LAPD cop Tom Ludlow who uncovers an extortion conspiracy in the police department he’s been part of all his career.

Reeves was unapologetic about the violent nature of the film, which is rated MA15+ for strong violence.

“It’s about that, it’s a gritty film in a gritty world,” he said.

The 43-year-old star said he had to do a lot of training to get into shape for the part, and admitted getting fit wasn’t as easy now as it used to be.

“I trained, I lifted some weights,” he said.

“It depends on the role - I don’t feel ageless.”

As released by IGN, the red band trailer for already high rated Street Kings shows new, violent footage from the film along with crude language.

A crime thriller of a disgraced cop who discovers corruption inside a police department and sets out on a mission to redeem himself.

Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks to present Oscars

Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks to present OscarsNicole Kidman and Tom Hanks have been named among the stars who will hand out this year’s Oscars.

The ceremony will also include musical performances by Amy Adams and Jon McLaughlin from the movie Enchanted.

TV comedian Jon Stewart is hosting this year’s awards. It is the second time he has fronted the event.

Other actors who will be handing out gongs include Forest Whitaker, Dame Helen Mirren, James McAvoy, George Clooney and Cate Blanchett.

There had been fears that the awards show would have to copy the Golden Globes’ lead and downsize its ceremony due to the WGA strike.

However, the show’s producer Gil Cates claimed that the awards would run as normal despite the delays.

He said: “We are behind in the writing, but we’ll catch up. It’ll be there. You’ll hear words. I promise.”

The Oscars take place on February 24.

‘Street Kings’ Teaser Trailer Available!

‘Street Kings’ - Keanu Reeves

Following the sudden title change of Keanu Reeves’ upcoming crime thriller, Fox Searchlight Pictures has made the teaser trailer of “Street Kings” available online. The teaser that runs just over a minute gives out idea about the story of the David Ayer directed-film.

The video footage opens with a short narration using a sort of rap song explaining the crimes in L.A. Then, the rapping changes to serious narration explaining about the L.A.’s cops. The teaser showcases the kinds of action scenes that the movie will have as well as gives glimpses of the character Reeves is playing.

The thriller which originally was named “The Night Watchman” is slated for release this coming April 11. It features Reeves, Forest Whitaker, Chris Evans, Hugh Laurie, Common and The Game as the film’s stars. “Street Kings” teaser trailer could be previewed below or on its trailer page at AceShowbiz.
