Gerard Butler’s “Game” Becomes “Citizen Game”
Lionsgate has just announced that the upcoming action film that used to be called “Game” has been renamed to “Citizen Game.“
“Citizen Game” is the newest action-thriller from Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor, the guys behind “Crank” and “Crank: High Voltage.”
Set in the near-future, mind-control technology has taken society by storm and a multiplayer on-line game called “Slayers” allows humans control other humans in mass-scale. Simon controls Kable (Gerard Butler) the on-line champion of the game, and with his every move tracked by millions, his ultimate challenge becomes regaining his identity and independence by defeating the game’s mastermind (Michael C. Hall) through launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him.
The film stars Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Alison Lohman, Amber Valletta, Logan Lerman, Kyra Sedgwick, Ludacris, John Leguizamo, Zoe Bell and Terry Crews.
“Citizen Game” is scheduled to hit theaters on September 4th 2009.

The lead character, played by Butler, is a worldwide sensation, and the top-ranked warrior in a game called “Slayers.” With his every move tracked by millions, he battles to regain his identity and bring down the entire system”. Joining Butler are Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) and Dexter’s Michael C. Hall as the game’s evil creator.
