Danny Huston Joins CLASH OF THE TITANS as Poseidon
According to THR, Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 30 Days of Night, The Aviator) has joined the cast of “Clash of the Titans,” Warner Bros.’ big-budget remake of the 1981 film of the same name. Huston will play the Greek God Poseidon, the God of the sea.
He’s joining a cast that includes Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Jason Flemyng, Alexa Davalos and Izabella Miko.
Synopsis:In “Clash of the Titans,” the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
“The Incredible Hulk” director Louis Leterrier is helming the new film, which started shooting a few days ago in London.
“Clash of the Titans” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 26th, 2010.
Ralph Fiennes As Hades In Clash of the Titans Remake
Ralph Fiennes is in negotiations to star as Hades, the lord of the underworld, in Louis Leterrier‘s the Greek epic “Clash of the Titans” remake for Warner Bros. But Fiennes’ involvement in “Clash of the Titans” isn’t exactly confirmed.
If he signed on, Fiennes would join a cast that includes Sam Worthington as Perseus, Gemma Arterton as Perseus’ love interest Io, Mads Mikkelsen as Draco and Alexa Davalos as Andromeda.
This is a sign that this remake is a far departure from the original, since Hades as well as Goddes Io weren’t in original 1981 version. The original film directed by Desmond Davis was the 11th highest grossing film of 1981 in the US.
Gemma Arterton Joins CLASH OF THE TITANS Remake
Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) who picked up the best newcomer prize at Empire Awards, will join Louis Leterrier-directed “Clash of the Titans,” which is remake of Desmond Davis-directed movie of the same name from 1981.
Arterton will play demi-goddess Io, Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation) will star as Perseus. Liam Neeson was reputed to have been offered the role of Zeus but it’s not yet known if he will commit to the role, given his current tragic circumstances.
Gemma Arterton described the role as “the coolest part”.
“Io’s not in the original film. Perseus falls in love with her… It’s a really great part,” she told.

Quantum of Solace Reviews
Shorter and more action packed, Quantum of Solace is a James Bond film for the new millennium. Unlike Brosnan’s swan song Die Another Day, the CGI is limited, and unlike Casino Royale the film doesn’t try to be too hip and trendy. From the pulsating opening car chase – you know that you are watching Bond, and like the older movies in the series you feel that it is the end of another adventure (it is) and not a piece of grandstanding from the second unit and stunt departments…full story [Screen Rant]
