Hanks, Clooney and Potential Actors Strike
Tom Hanks and George Clooney have warned an actors strike is a possibility if upcoming talks between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the movie studios aren’t successful.
In a letter published in Friday’s edition of the Los Angeles Times, Hanks and Clooney calls for talks to begin as soon as possible to maximise the chances of averting a walk-out.
SAG members will reportedly strike this summer (08) after their current contract expires on 30 June if negotiations with studio bosses over pay and conditions do not prove fruitful.
But Hanks and Clooney are hopeful a strike can be avoided.
“A strike by the actors is certainly a possibility this summer, but is by no means inevitable.”
Presenters At The Kodak Theatre
The strike is off and the star power is on for the 80th annual Academy Awards. Presenters at the Kodak Theatre will include all four of last year’s winners in the acting categories – Alan Arkin, Jennifer Hudson, Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker.
George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett and Cameron Diaz will be among the presenters at the Feb. 24 ceremony at the Kodak Theatre, Oscar officials announced Thursday.
Hollywood icons Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Martin Scorsese and Denzel Washington will also take to the stage, said telecast producer Gil Cates and film academy President Sid Ganis.
George Clooney Moves Out Of House
George Clooney has been forced to move out of his house. Why? Well, naughty Britney Spears is his neighbour.

’I just found out, like, 10 days ago I must live within, like 300 or 400 yards from Britney Spears. I found out because I came home at 10 o’clock at night and there was all these helicopters over my house with these lights.’
’I think, ‘Someone’s broken out of prison.’ I get my baseball hat, which is what you always get in every film, and I called up my assistant, who I thought was in my guesthouse.
I said, ‘Are you okay?’
She’s like, ‘Yes.’
I said, ‘if there’s someone in the place, say the word Stonehenge,’
and she’s like, ‘What the f*** are you talking about?’
‘So now I have to move.’ 
Clooney jokes about Nicole’s pregnancy
George Clooney usually likes to joke around with interviewers. When he was asked by the press what he thought of Nicole Kidman’s pregnancy, Clooney said: ’At least she is older than 16’.
Continuing on with his humor he told: ’She’ll be great. She’ll be a tall mother’.
Leatherheads Movie Trailer
Universal has released the movie trailer for Leatherheads, a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football. The story follows the owner of a professional team who drafts a straight-laced college sensation in an attempt to legitimatize the sport, only to watch his new coach fall for his fiancée. Directed and starring George Clooney, co-starring John Krasinski, Renée Zellweger, and Stephen Root.
