Indiana Jones Tops Hero Poll
Actors Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford have been voted the greatest ever action heroes. Around a quarter of the 3,000 people polled remembered Ford fondly as Han Solo in Star Wars and swashbuckling archaeologist Indiana Jones, a role he takes up again later on this year – for the fourth time.
Willis also set the standard in the 1980s, as John McClane in Die Hard, a role he reprised for the fourth time last year.
Third place was taken by Last Action Hero star Arnold Schwarzenegger, with 15 per cent of the vote.
Newer breeds of action hero Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, and Daniel Craig as James Bond, achieved fourth and fifth-equal places in the poll.
Craig tied with Sylvester Stallone, Steven Seagal and Mel Gibson in joint fifth place with 5 per cent each. Continue Reading…

Hollywood and Cannes Film Festival
Clint Eastwood’s film “The Changeling“, starring Angelina Jolie as a woman searching for her missing son in 1920s Los Angeles and “Synechdoche, New York,” screenwriter Charlie Kaufman’s directorial debut.joins a competition list.
Steven Soderbergh, who took the top Cannes award in 1989 for “Sex, Lies and Videotape“, won a race against time to complete his four-hour epic “Che“, on the life of the revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara in time for the festival.
Steven Soderbergh’s inclusion looks like a last-minute decision. He competes with two pic ”Che” bio – “The Argentine” and “Guerrilla”
As predicted, Steven Spielberg’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” world preems down on the Croisette, possibly on Sunday May 18. It promises this fest’s must-attend, highest-glam event.
Thierry Fremaux, the festival’s head said the presence of Steven Spielberg and the stars of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, which will premiere outside the main competition, would ensure “a magnificent red carpet”.
Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and George Lucas are expected to join Spielberg on the steps outside the Palais des Festivals, guaranteeing the kinds of flashing cameras that add essential glamour to the festival’s arthouse fare.
Out-of-competition, DreamWorks Animation’s “Kung Fu Panda,” an adventure, comedic chop-soc tooner, promises another Hollywood red-carpet cavalcade.
Also non-competing, as is Woody Allen’s custom, is the Spain-shot “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”
After its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, the Hollywood satire “What Just Happened?” will get a second chance at Cannes – closing night, but we are not sure yet because organizers said they would announce the movies that open and close the festival in a few days.
Robert De Niro stars an embattled Hollywood producer whose life falls apart during one turbulent week. In a life-imitating-art turn, the film’s climactic scene takes place at the Cannes Film Festival, with the producer’s fictional movie-within-a-movie opening the event.
“What Just Happened?” also stars Catherine Keener as a tough-as-nails studio chief and features a number of stars, including Sean Penn and Bruce Willis, playing themselves in self-parodying roles. Barry Levinson directs from an adaptation of “Into the Wild” producer Art Linson’s memoir.
The film generated strong buzz going into January’s Sundance Film Festival, and was expected to sell for a significant seven-figure sum. But the movie received a mixed critical.
Star Wars Han Solo Should Have Died Harrison Ford Insists!
A ‘Star Wars‘ universe without everyone’s favourite self-centred blast first ask questions later smuggler. Could you have imagined it? Not being the sort of ‘Star War’s’ ‘dress-up-as-a-Storm trooper obsessive myself, I’m not going to get my imitation lightsaber in a twist about it but it’s an intriguing line of alternate history to ponder, that’s for sure.Looking back at those youthful years from under his faithful and well used fedora, Harrison Ford took time out from amid the building ‘Indy’ mania to suggest what a good idea it would have been to finish off Han Solo. He tried to persuade Lucas that the death of the loveable rogue would be the way to go because “it’d make a better story”. “You don’t need him,” he said. “He’s got no mama, got no papa – out there all by himself. He’s a piece you can move around or get rid of.’” Ford said. Continue Reading…
Another New Image for That ‘Indiana Jones 4′ Film Everyone’s Talking About!
The wait, will soon be over. In just over a month, the dirt digging, fist throwing adventurer that’s been gone for almost 20 years will finally return to take us on another one of his quests to find some important artefact that could mean certain death for anyone else. But in this case, we’re alright, it is Indy after all.
Whilst we sit staring at the calendar like a chocolate filled child at Christmas, USA Today have attempted to calm our impatience (and everyone else’s) with another brand spanking new image for the film as well as retell the adventure they had whilst on a trek with Harrison Ford, himself, who apparently, still wouldn’t mind saying yes to a fifth adventure…
Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford Grew Close on ‘Indiana Jones 4′
Steven Spielberg has revealed that his friendship with Harrison Ford was the best part of filming Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
The pair collaborated on the first three instalments of the franchise but did not grow close until the latest adventure.
Spielberg said they had struck up a friendship on the set of the fourth movie, 17 years after filming Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade.
The director told Empire: “We’ve gone off and made other movies which means our paths have not crossed all that often. I’m not the most social guy in the world and neither is Harrison, so we didn’t spend much time together, but we actually became great buddies on this movie.
“More even than on the first three. It’s the best thing that came out of this experience for me.”
Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull opens on May 22.
New TV Spot For ‘Indiana Jones 4′
A new TV spot is now online for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and it’s moderately superior to last month’s clunky teaser trailer.
The “genius” line between Harrison Ford and a stiff-haired Shia LaBeouf has the kind of smart ass pop that the classic adventure franchise warrants. Also, notice that the scene most snarked at by fanboys in the original trailer, where Indiana Jones fell ass-first into the windshield of a moving vehicle and awkwardly punched out a goon, has been replaced, wisely, by a Steven Spielberg credit. Otherwise, nothing much new here.
New Featurette Online for ‘Indiana Jones 4′
A new featurette has popped up online at the official website for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull featuring young actor Shia LaBeouf on the set of the production.. Shia stars with Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent. Spielberg was once again behind the camera for the highly anticipated fourth installment.

Cannes Film Festival – Indiana Jones 4 on May 18
Much anticipated and long-awaited fourth installment of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg’s
‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull‘, will debut at the Cannes Film Festival then open in theatres world-wide a few days later.
‘The Da Vinci Code‘ used the same tactic, avoiding Internet spoilers and lots of scolding critics.
The Cannes splash on May 18 will be followed by a massive press conference with Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Harrison Ford and new co-stars Shia LaBeouf and Cate Blanchett.
That will be followed by the opening, May 22, which will likely be followed by some sort of box office records.
‘Da Vinci Code’ scooped up $758-million globally even as critics slammed the allegedly lifeless version of the best selling book.
Last year’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End‘ reached $153-million.
Can ‘Indiana Jones 4′ do either of the ‘Da Vinci Code’ or ‘Pirates’ numbers? We’ll see.

‘Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skul’ First Reviews!
Harrison Ford Had No Faith ‘Star Wars’ Would Succeed
Asked by Home Media magazine what his “defining memory” of Star Wars was, Harrison Ford responded,
“The day my accountant convinced me that the success of the film and the two sequels that I was in meant I would never be poor again. It was a very Scarlett O’Hara moment considering prior to that I was making more of a living as a carpenter than an actor.”
Ford indicated that he had little confidence while he was making Star Wars that it would become successful.
“Whenever we would ask [director George] Lucas what we were shooting at or fleeing from he’d just tell us the special effects will be put in much later and that will explain everything, George will never be known as an actor’s director.”
