Werner Herzog and Nicolas Cage hit the streets in ‘Bad Lieutenant’ remake!

Bad LieutenantWerner Herzog is lining up to direct Nicolas Cage in a remake of Bad Lieutenant for Edward R Pressman and Nu Image/Millennium Films.The project is being fast-tracked for a July shoot and the producers are in talks to film in New Orleans.

Nu Image/Millennium is financing and handling international sales on the project, which is styled as a post-9/11 update of Pressman Film Corp’s 1992 tale of a self-destructive detective.

Abel Ferrera directed and co-wrote the original, which earned Harvey Keitel an Independent Spirit Award for his performance as a drug-addled, gambling sex addict who investigates the rape of a nun.

The new version is based on a screenplay from William M Finkelstein, a seasoned television writer whose credits include LA Law and NYPD Blue, and gives the conflicted officer a name – Terence McDonough – as he investigates the killing of five Senegalese immigrants.

Dolph Lundgren Goes All Roman In ‘The Final Enquiry’

‘The Final Enquiry’Just picture the scene reader. A dusty vault in the basement of an unnamed film studio. Inside, four glass cases containing four actors suspended in stasis. The four are Stephen Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris and Dolph Lundgren. A peeling sign on the wall displays the instruction…”Break glass only in the event of emergency or imminent straight to DVD release.”

Bless, they’re cotton socks eh? Despite all their faults and the numerous despicable cinematic sewerage they’ve graced over the years, I’m still fascinated in what they all get up to.

Obviously big Dolph has been unleashed courtesy of a few careful hammer blows as he’s recently been talking about his latest DVD release and you know, it does actually sound quite interesting. I’ll pass you over to Dolph and let him brief you on what’s going down.
