Apparently Mirren is now in some serious talks to join Sasha Gervasi directed movie which is based on the non-fiction book by Stephen Rebello.

Warner Bros has issued the second trailer for Arthur, starring Russell Brand, Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig and Helen Mirren!

In the remake of the 1981 comedy, Brand (Get Him to the Greek) takes on Dudley Moore’s role as the rich drunken playboy.  Mirren (Red) costars in the valet role previously played by John Gielgud, Jennifer Garner (The Invention of Lying) plays the intended bride, and Greta Gerwig (No Strings Attached) takes on Liza Minnelli’s role as the girlfriend.

Focus & UPI Will Distribute Miramax’s The Debt

The espionage thriller The Debt will be distributed for Miramax by Focus Features and Universal Pictures International (UPI). Focus will release The Debt in the U.S. nationwide on Wednesday, August 31st, and UPI will release the film internationally.

Directed by Academy Award nominee John Madden (Shakespeare in Love), The Debt stars Academy Award winner Helen Mirren, Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans), Jessica Chastain (soon to be seen in The Tree of Life), Marton Csokas (Universal’s upcoming Dream House), Jesper Christensen (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace), Ciarán Hinds (Focus’ Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), and two-time Academy Award nominee Tom Wilkinson. The screenplay, by Matthew Vaughn & Jane Goldman and Peter Straughan, is adapted from the 2007 Israeli film Ha-Hov. The producers of The Debt are Mr. Vaughn and Kris Thykier through Marv Films, Eitan Evan, and Eduardo Rossof; Tarquin Pack is the film’s executive producer.

Jon and Erich Hoeber Will Write Red Sequel

Remember that action comedy Red, nominated for Golden Globe but unfortunately lost?

Well, guys from the Summit Entertainment production made over a $100 million at the worldwide box office with that one, so they probably remember it very well.

So, guess what – the studio has rehired Red screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber to write a sequel!

Ok, the whole thing is still in the early stages, but as usual we’re here to share this interesting news with you.

Let us remind you that Red was released back in October and made $164 million worldwide. With a budget of $58 million it made a nice profit for the studio.
