Legend of the Guardians Trailer
Yahoo! Movies has debuted the first trailer for Zack Snyder‘s upcoming animated film Legend of the Guardians, opening in 3D theaters and IMAX 3D on September 24.
The film features the voice talent of Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, David Wenham, Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Jay Laga’aia, Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren, Deborra-Lee Furness and Jim Sturgess.
First Legend of the Guardians Images!
The first images from director Zack Snyder’s animated fantasy-adventure film, Legend of the Guardians (formerly titled Guardians of Ga’Hoole), are now online.
The film is based on the first three books of Kathryn Lasky’s series, illustratated by Richard Cowdry and follows Soren (voiced by Jim Sturgess), a young barn owl who is kidnapped by the owls of the St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls, or St. Aggie’s. The academy is supposed to be an orphanage, but instead it brainwashes its pupils into becoming soldiers who will ultimately clash with the wise, peaceful owls of Ga’Hoole.

John Malkovich Joins “Red”
John Malkovich has replaced John C. Reilly in the adaptation of Wildstorm/DC Comics’ miniseries “Red.”
Malkovich joining a cast that includes Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox and James Remar.
“Red” is the tale of a retired black-ops agent (Willis) who must contend with younger, more high-tech assassins who show up to kill him. Malkovich will be play a contemporary of Willis’ who joins in his plan to kills those sent to kill him.

James McAvoy’s “The Last Station” Trailer
The first trailer for a historical drama that illustrates Russian author Leo Tolstoy’s struggle to balance fame and wealth with his commitment to a life devoid of material things – “The Last Station” has been released.
Both written and directed by Michael Hoffman, the movie stars Christopher Plummer, Helen Mirren, James McAvoy, Paul Giamatti and Anne-Marie Duff among others.
Helen Mirren Joins “Red”
Helen Mirren has joined the cast of “Red,” big screen adaptation of the WildStorm/DC Comics book.
The movie will also star Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman.
The “Red” comic book was written by noted author Warren Ellis and illustrated by Cully Hamner.
It focuses on Paul Moses, a retired CIA operative that is forced back into the espionage game after he is betrayed by the government he had dedicated his life to protect.
Russell Crowe In State of Play Trailer
Universal Pictures has released the trailer for “State of Play,” the new crime thriller, based on the BBC mini-series of the same title, starring Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck. The movie is directed by Kevin Macdonald from the screenplay adaptation by Tony Gilroy and Matthew Michael Carnahan.
The film tells the story of a team of investigative reporters work alongside a police detective to try to solve the murder of a congressman’s mistress.
Helen Mirren to star in John Madden’s “Debt”
Miramax has tapped Helen Mirren to play a Mossad agent in “The Debt” which will be directed by John Madden.
Miramax acquired worldwide rights to “The Debt,” an English-language remake of Israeli thriller “Ha-hov” directed by Assaf Bernstein, about three Israeli Mossad agents tracking down a Nazi war criminal over 30 years, in April.
Matthew Vaughn, Jane Goldman (“Stardust” co-writer) and Peter Straughan will pen the script.
“Helen Mirren is the perfect choice for the central role – a national celebrity and retired Mossad agent, a formidable and dignified woman grappling with years of emotional disappointment, suddenly confronted by a powerful and unexpected choice,”
said Madden.
Filming is set to start next year in the U.K., Germany and Israel.
