Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk To Be Motion-Capture In The Avengers
The Avengers is definitely one of the projects that keeps pure attention over the last few months, and we’re quite happy to finally hear more interesting details about the whole thing.
This time, thanks to Mark Ruffalo, the third person set to play Bruce Banner, we have this kind of announcement for you guys: he will perform the dual roles in The Avengers feature, or, if you prefer his words:
“I’m really excited. No one’s ever played the Hulk exactly, they’ve always done CGI. They’re going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I’ll actually play the Hulk. That’ll be fun.”
The Avengers Cast Confirmed, Joss Whedon is Directing, Mark Ruffalo is New Hulk
The rumor that’s been actual for a while is no longer a rumor. Joss Whedon is directing The Avengers, now, it’s official!
Whedon made the announcement at Comic-Con saying:
“It’s not an official thing, I think because Marvel couldn’t afford a press release. So can we make that an official thing? I’m directing The Avengers!” So, there you go, one mystery finally solved!
But that’s not all! Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige brought the entire crew of the movie down to San Diego: Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Clark Gregg as Coulson, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner.
Mark Ruffalo as Hulk in The Avengers?
Mark Ruffalo is in talks to play Hulk, the green giant, in the upcoming Marvel’s big screen spectacle The Avengers.
No big surprise, since we already know Edward Norton will not be the part of this project (you should check out our previous report about that), and that guys from Marvel mentioned they are “looking to announce a name actor who is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks.” Ruffalo could be the perfect choice indeed…
Joss Whedon (best known for creating Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will direct Marvel Studios The Avengers, movie that already stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
So, if Ruffalo does accept this offer, he will likely be “committing to a multiple-film deal, including at least two Avengers sequels, and possibly a new series of Hulk movies.”
Joaquin Phoenix as Hulk in The Avengers?
We all remmember that “retired” handsome “rapper,” Joaquin Phoenix, right? Yeah, he’s that two-time Oscar nominated actor as well!
Now there’s a rumor he’s back and that he has been offered the part of the Hulk in Marvel’s forthcoming superhero project The Avengers. Shocked? Well, at least you must admit that it is kind of strange to see guy like Phoenix in the role previously played by Edward Norton…
So, Edward Norton was all set to reprise the role of Bruce Banner a.k.a The Hulk, but then we heard he would not be back for the new film due not to monetary factors, but, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Fiege explained:
“The company wants an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.”
However, Norton’s agent called his comments “unprofessional, disingenuous and clearly defamatory.”
