Bilbo and the Dwarves, that’s probably the best description of the latest image from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
As you’ll see, the image features Martin Freeman, William Kircher, Graham McTavish, James Nesbitt and John Callen.
And although he’s the leading star, I’m not sure why we only get the images of Bilbo Baggins, but hey – at least something!

As you see, the new image features Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins holding so called Sting aka “the blade that glows blue when Orcs are close” so I guess this should be enough information for you to check out the rest of this report as well!

The January edition of the Empire Magazine and February issue of Total Film Magazine are rolling out now and what should lie within but a new images of Martin Freeman as the hero Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s prequel The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Peter Jackson has posted a new production video for The Hobbit on his Facebook, highlighting the break in production that occurred after 54 days of shooting. The cast and crew are due back on set September 5th to begin filming on block two.

First Look: ‘The Hobbit’ Dwarves
Here are two new images from Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit Part 1: An Unexpected Journey”, featuring three brothers Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori ( Adam Brown), Dori ( Mark Hadlow), and other two brothers Oin (John Callen) and Gloin (Peter Hambleton), dwarves who accompany a young Bilbo Baggins on an epic adventure.
Luke Evans To Play Bard in The Hobbit
Mystery solved – Luke Evans will play archer Bard the Bowman in the upcoming Peter Jackson’s movie The Hobbit!
And, if you think that’s all, you’re wrong, because according to the latest reports, Benedict Cumberbatch will also be the part of this project.
Apparently he will voice the dragon Smaug. So, we should now add them to the cast list which already includes Cate Blanchett, Ian McKellan, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Andy Serkis and Stephen Fry.
Ian McKellen and Judi Dench to Star in Matthew Butler’s Zombie Romp
Good news for zombies-in-corset funs! Judi Dench is going to join Ian McKellen (who narrated and made a cameo appearance in the short), Gillian Anderson (The X-Files star), and Mark Williams (who can be seen in the Harry Potter movies as Arthur Weasley) for a new period zombie comedy named The Curse of the Buxom Strumpet, which is a full-length feature extension of E’Gad, Zombies!, a short that appeared in 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
Hugo Weaving to Join Cloud Atlas?
Cloud Atlas adaptation, remember that one? I hope you do, because we’re here to update the whole thing! According to the latest reports, Hugo Weaving is working on the film adaptation of David Mitchell‘s book with the makers of The Matrix – Andy and Lana Wachowski!
That’s kind of official part of this report, because that’s exactly what Australian publishing house Hachette recently shared with all of us on Tweeter. Check out the rest of this report for more interesting details.
So, as we said, Cloud Atlas will be directed by the Wachowskis along with Tom Tykwer, with the budget between $80 million and $100 million.
Saoirse Ronan to Star in The Hobbit?
Surprise, or not, but The Lovely Bones star, young and sweet Saoirse Ronan, is taking on a part in Peter Jackson’s upcoming two-part prequel The Hobbit!
The movie is now expected to start shooting late next month, and just in case you’re wondering why – this sudden delay comes because Jackson has been hospitalized with a perforated ulcer.
So, what do we know about this project at this moment?
The Hobbit has quite interesting cast, that already includes Martin Freeman in the lead as Bilbo Baggins with Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen reprising their roles from the Lord of the Rings franchise, along with a whole host of actors including Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt, Sylvester McCoy among others.
