Michael Jackson

If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with. Nicely said, Michael! Would you like to see a movie about Michael Jackson guys? I’m MJ loyal fan (as the matter of fact I’ll press play on Dirty Diana right now) and I’m definitely interested in the latest news that goes like this: Michael Jackson’s estate wants to make a King of Pop biopic.

Ivan Reitman

Ivan Reitman is in talks to direct Big in China, memoir of the journalist Alan Paul that is full with journalist’s adventures in Beijing.

As you already guess, this one is actually following Paul’s life-changing experience that began when his wife accepted a three-year work assignment in Beijing. Will Reitman accept this offer from Montecito Pictures – we have no idea, but we do know that the project is currently out to writers, after which Reitman will make his decision.

So what can a stay-at-home dad do in Beijing? Well, this dad picked up guitar and started a blues band. The memoir examines the East-West disconnect and captures a nation struggling to modernize.

Box Office: No Strings Attached Estimated Weekend $20M

By Nick Martin | Jan 22, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

No Strings Attached

Ivan Reitman-directed romantic comedy No Strings Attached, opened solidly to $7.3 million Friday, according to studio estimates, putting the R-rated Ashton Kutcher/Natalie Portman film on pace to match pre-release tracking forecasts of around $20 million. Budgeted at $25 million, “No Strings” debuted in 3,018 theaters with semisoft reviews (49 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), but great tracking among women under 25, with 57 percent of that demographic convey explicit interest in seeing the movie, according to one tracking firm.

The first thing you should know about “No Strings Attached” is that it’s not a true romantic comedy but a sex comedy with romantic ambitions; the second is that it’s brighter and cuter than many of its recent fellows. On opening night, the movie played to theaters across the country packed full of young women (and a lot of guys who want to make out).

Sony’s The Green Hornet finished in second place Friday with $7.3 million. The $130 million Seth Rogen 3D action movie should cross the $60 million mark domestically by the end of the weekend, while experiencing a week-to-week drop of under 50 percent, if projections delay.

Universal buddy comedy The Dilemma is in third place with an estimated $3 million on Friday. The Ron Howard-directed movie, which stars Vince Vaughn and Kevin James, is expected to bring in over $9 million this weekend and also drop less than 50 percent from its premiere week.

He’s (Schwarzenegger) joked around about coming back to acting, but I think really he would like to do something serious.”

Sequelizing Ghostbusters?

By Nick Martin | Jan 12, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Ghostbusters

It has been 21 years since the last Ghostbusters sequel, which wasn’t as good as the original and didn’t gross as much. Despite that, Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has tried over and over to scare up a new ghost comedy that would attract Murray and his fellows Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis for another return. It has gone long when a studio hurries a sequel to take the profit from the energy of the last movie. Nobody was going to run unless a good script made it useful.

The studio won’t even think about forward on a $150 million film unless Bill has a closed deal and a commitment. It’s too huge a risk to do any meaningful prep, hoping he shows up.

an insider is quoted as saying.

No Strings Attached

Paramount Pictures has unleashed a red band trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy No Strings Attached.

In this comedy, Emma (Natalie Portman) and Adam (Ashton Kutcher) are life-long friends who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. In order to protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly “no strings attached.” “No strings” means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don’t fall in love. The question becomes- who’s going to fall first? And can their friendship survive?
