JACK THE GIANT KILLER Photo Featuring Nicholas Hoult
Warner Bros has released a new photo from Bryan Singer’s 3D fairy tale adventure, Jack the Giant Killer, featuring a shot of Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man) as Jack.
The film has a great cast that also includes Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Ewan McGregor and Eleanor Tomlinson.

Although it looks to me pretty much like a teaser trailer and we can’t see much of it (which is actually good) I must say that this one could be a good and much better than all those dark re-invented fairytales. Just my first impressions.

Ian McShane Joins Jack the Giant Killer
Jack the Giant Killer update! No, it’s not delaying again, don’t worry, we’re here for a little casting update!
Ian McShane, who will next be seen as Blackbeard in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has joined the cast of the upcoming Bryan Singer‘s movie that already stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir.
As we previously reported, Jack the Giant Killer will follow “a young farmer Jack, the hero who must lead a dangerous expedition to the kingdom of giants in hope of rescuing a princess.”
I’m sure you all know that Nicholas Hoult stars as the lead Jack, with Eleanor Tomlinson who portrays the princess. Now we know that McShane will play her father – King Brahnwell.

More casting updates for today, guys! According to the latest reports, Bryan Singer‘s upcoming movie Jack the Giant Killer just found its princess.
It’s British actress Eleanor Tomlinson, probably best known from Alice in Wonderland. Now, she’s set to play princess Isabella, opposite previously reported Nicholas Hoult, who stars as the titular Jack.
So, you already know some rumors about the plot – when a princess is kidnapped, a long-standing peace between men and giants becomes threatened, and a young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue her.
Ewan McGregor to Join Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Killer
Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer is coming and it’s the right time for a big casting update(s)!
You know that Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, John Kassir and Nicholas Hoult are already on board, but today we learned that Ewan McGregor is in negotiations to join the cast as well!
On the other hand, when it comes to the female lead, or if you prefer – a princess, now we have two names in contention – Adelaide Kane and Eleanor Tomlinson!
So, McGregor will play the leader of the king’s guard in the project, who aids the titular hero in his giant-slaying tasks.
Tucci stars as the villain, Kassir as the two-headed leader of the giants, and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) as the titular hero Jack.

Nicholas Hoult is in negotiations to play the lead role in Bryan Singer‘s upcoming Jack the Giant Killer.
We already knew that Singer has been searching for a young actor to star in his fantasy epic for a while, and now, Hoult is in negotiations to take on the role of a young farmer who leads a party into the land of the giants in order to rescue a princess.
The script is written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Mark Bomback (Live Free or Die Hard) and Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After) and, according to Deadline, Jack the Giant Killer is:

Bryan Singer shoots a modern day fairy tale in which the ancient peace between men and giants is in danger, as a young farmer leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom in hope of rescuing a kidnapped princess. Starring Aaron Johnson. By all accounts the movie is kind of an adult version of the original.

Jack The Giant Killer, New Line Cinema’s and Legendary Pictures’ project has delayed its start date from this summer to February 2011. Can you already guess why?
Yeah, to allow more time for visual effects, of course. So, the upcoming Bryan Singer‘s movie was to shoot in England this summer, but now looks that Singer is taking pre-visualization work to painstaking lengths in order to properly realize his vision for the film…

Bryan Singer Directing Jack The Giant Killer
According to HeatVision Blog, Bryan Singer (Superman Returns, Valkyrie) has signed on to direct “Jack the Giant Killer,” the fantasy adventure from Legendary Pictures and New Line.
Penned by Mark Bomback (Deception, Live Free or Die Hard) and Darren Lemke (Lost (2004)) while Neal Moritz is producing via his Original Film banner. David Dobkin will co-produce alongside Legendary’s Jon Jashni and Alex Garcia.
