A new trailer for DreamWorks‘ latest animated feature, Kung Fu Panda, has just debuted online. The movie stars Jack Black as Po, a lazy, irreverent slacker panda, who must somehow become a Kung Fu Master in order to save the Valley of Peace from a villainous snow leopard. The movie boasts an impressive voice cast, which features Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu and Michael Clarke Duncan.

The writers and directors for “Kung Fu Panda” are very inexperienced, but have worked on the animated show “Father of the Pride,” and have written several “King of the Hill” episodes. Kung Fu Panda opens on June 6.

Jet Li Alters Script To Suit Western Viewers

Posted by Allan Ford 11 March, 2008 (0) Comment

Jet Li said he has changed the script of his upcoming movie with fellow action star Jackie Chan to better suit Western tastes, an online news site reported. Li said “The Forbidden Kingdom” was conceived as a film about Chinese mythology’s monkey king and he thought the idea of a kung fu fighting monkey was too far-fetched for Western viewers, according to an interview transcript posted on the Chinese news website Sina.com.

Li said he altered the script, inspired by the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West,” to turn the story into a child’s dream about Chinese mythology. He said this would make characters with special powers like the monkey king more believable to a Western audience. Read the rest of this entry

‘Kung Fu Panda’ Movie Trailer

Kung Fu Panda

The feature trailer of “Kung Fu Panda” has been released online by DreamWorks Animation. Featuring the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan and Dustin Hoffman, the trailer that runs over two minutes showcases the comic act of the leading character, Po, as he tried his best to be one of the Kung Fu masters.

The animated video footage begins as the narrator speaks about the background of the Kung Fu master stating that despite successfully trained five legendary warriors, the master hasn’t met his biggest challenge yet. As he says that, Po, the Kung Fu master-wanna-be came into the screen apparently exhausted after climbing the steep wall leading to the master’s palace.

The trailer shows Po’s clumsiness but also his enthusiasm on joining the world of Kung Fu. As it is ended with a scene of Po and his master fight over a dumpling with “Kill Bill” score at the background, it promises cute comedy of the movie. Before “Panda” hits theaters on June 6, the trailer of “Kung Fu Panda” could be watched on its trailer page at AceShowbiz or seen below.
