Frank Langella and Susan Sarandon to Star in Robot and Frank

Jackie Kelman Bisbee and Lance Acord, partners in Park Pictures, announced today they have formed a narrative feature company, Park Pictures Features with independent film darling Galt Niederhoffer and award-winning producer Sam Bisbee. Park Pictures Features’ first project will be the family comedy, “Robot and Frank,” starring Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden, Liv Tyler, Jeremy Strong and Liev Schreiber, as the voice of the Robot. Written by Christopher Ford, the film marks the feature film directorial debut of Park Pictures’ director Jake Schreier. The film is currently shooting in New York. Niederhoffer, Bisbee, Kelman Bisbee and Acord are producing the film. The film is executive produced by White Hat/TBB. Matt Lloyd is the Director of Photography.

Isabel Lucas Joins Erik Van Looy’s Loft Remake

Isabel LucasLoft, remember that one? Yeah, we already had a little chat about that project, so you know that it’s actually a remake of the 2008 Belgian picture, directed by Erik Van Looy.

Van Looy is directing a remake as well, and Patrick Wilson, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet and Matthias Schoenaerts are already set to star in it.

But, that’s not all, because we just learned that lovely Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star) is in talks to join the cast.

So, Erik Van Looy will return to direct, only this time from a screenplay by Wesley Strick. Strick, on the other hand, will adapt Bart De Pauw‘s original script that follows:

“…five married men share ownership of an upmarket loft, which they use to discretely meet their respective mistresses.

We’re talking about Eric Stonestreet and Wentworth Miller, who are set to star in the whole thing. They will join the cast that already includes previously reported Patrick Wilson and James Marsden.

We already had a little chat about this project few months ago, when we mentioned that a remake of a 2008 Belgian film directed by Erik Van Looy is coming, and that Van Looy will return to direct the English-language version of his film from a script by Wesley Strick (A Nightmare on Elm Street).

Thomas Mann to Join Claire Danes and James Marsden in As Cool As I Am

As Cool as I Am is the upcoming independent movie that will be directed by Max Mayer, but I’m sure you all remember our previous chat about the whole thing, so let’s get straight to the newest casting update!

According to the latest reports, It’s Kind of a Funny Story star, Thomas Mann will join the project that already includes James Marsden and Claire Danes!

As we previously said, As Cool as I Am starts shooting next month in New Mexico, the script is written by Virginia Korus Spragg, and based on Pete Fromm‘s coming-of-age novel of the same name.

It will follow Lucy Diamond, the teen daughter of self-centered parents who married when they were teens. Marsden and Danes are on board to play the parents, the role of Lucy has not yet been cast, and now we have Thomas Mann on board to play the role of the girl’s best friend.

X-Men (2006, 2009) and Hugh Jackman’s Open.No Producer John Palermo considering a summer start in L.A. for  The Dead Circus, a drama that develops a storyline into the odd death of one hit wonder Bobby Fuller.

James Marsden, Michael Shannon (Update: Shannon’s reps said scheduling has knocked him out of the role),  Michael C. Hall and Oscar winner Melissa Leo are attached to this project.

The script is penned by Adam Davenport and John Kaye, based on Kaye’s novel. Davenport is going to make his directorial debut on The Dead Circus.
