New THE RAVEN Poster, Starring John Cusack
A new movie poster has just been released for the upcoming period thriller The Raven. Originally set for March 9th opposite John Carter, it’ll now open in the final weekend before the official Summer season starts – April 27th, 2012. The poster the first to feature star John Cusack, who plays the famed American author of the macabre, Edgar Allen Poe.

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting… I’m definitely interested in the upcoming James McTeigue’s The Raven, so I’m thrilled we finally have the reason to write about this movie again.
That reason is an international trailer for the period crime-thriller which has an extraordinary cast on board.

Relativity has released the first trailer and two new photos from The Raven, directed by James McTeigue and starring John Cusack, Luke Evans, Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, with Cusack playing the real-life Edgar Allen Poe, a man of mystery, and solver of criminal mysteries.
October 7th, 2011 marks the 162nd anniversary of macabre-master Edgar Allan Poe’s untimely and mysterious death.

Relativity Media has debuted the official Comic-Con poster for their upcoming James McTeigue-directed film The Raven, starring John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe as he joins forces with a young Baltimore detective to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders.
James McTeigue to Direct Message from the King
James McTeigue is probably best known as V For Vendetta helmer, but we’ll soon have a chance to add another title next to his name, because according to the latest reports, he has come on board to direct the character-driven thriller Message from the King.
Well, this definitely sounds like an interesting project for man who recently wrapped the Edgar Allen Poe-centered thriller The Raven.
At this moment we know that McTeigue’s newest project will center on Jacob King, an enigmatic outsider who comes to Los Angeles to investigate the sudden and mysterious disappearance of his sister.

Relativity Captures Raven
Relativity Media announced today that it has acquired U.S. rights to market and distribute Intrepid Pictures’ The Raven, directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and starring John Cusack (2012, 1408).
The film also stars Luke Evans (Immortals, Clash of the Titans), Alice Eve (Sex and the City 2), Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter Series) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster). The script was written by Ben Livingston (Bruce Almighty) and Hannah Shakespeare (Loverboy).
The Raven is a fictionalized account of the final days of gothic writer Edgar Allan Poe as he tracks a serial killer whose crimes mirror works by the famous author.
Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans are producing for Intrepid, alongside Aaron Ryder for FilmNation, who brought the project to Intrepid. Galavis Films’ Jesus Martinez is executive producing. FilmNation is selling international distribution rights to the film. Principal photography on The Raven began in November in Hungary, with a move to Serbia in December. Production wrapped in January.
Intrepid Pictures credits include the upcoming action feature The Cold Light of Day, directed by Mabrouk El Mechri and starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver. Intrepid also produced the hit horror feature The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman.
“We’re excited to partner with the Relativity team on this thrilling feature, which capitalizes on the popularity of Edgar Allen Poe and his classic tales,” said Macy and Evans in a joint statement. “We’re also very pleased that Relativity is committed to helping deliver this film to the widest possible audience.”

said Relativity’s President of Worldwide Production, Tucker Tooley.

What would happen if a serial killer challenged poet Edgar Allan Poe to solve a series of killings inspired by his own stories?
That’s exactly what the upcoming thriller, titled The Raven, and directed by James McTeigue, will try to answer.
