I’m not sure what to think about this movie, so the only reason I’m interested in the upcoming John Carter is the fact it comes from director Andrew Stanton.
I mean, don’t get me wrong but I hate that strange mix of action-adventure and the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom aka Mars.

Disney has released three new banners for their sci-fi film John Carter, opening March 9th, 2012.
The film is written (with Michael Chabon) and directed by two-time Academy Award-winner Andrew Stanton (Wall-E). Starring Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, and Willem Dafoe.
It is based on the first novel in Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 11-volume Barsoom (Mars) series about a Civil War veteran who gains super powers after being mysteriously transported to Mars.

Walt Disney Pictures has released the second trailer for Andrew Stanton‘s adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ epic tale, John Carter, which opens in 3D and IMAX 3D theaters nationwide March 9th, 2012.
The film follows a former Confederate captain (Taylor Kitsch) who is mysteriously transported to Mars and must resolve a conflict between warring nations.
