Nicole Kidman in Another Musical - ‘Nine’
After her role in musical film “Moulin Rouge!” (2001), Nicole Kidman is said to lay her eyes on another singing role in “Nine“, a feature film adaptation of a Broadway musical.
Kidman is negotiating to attain a role in the film. If the negotiation goes well, she will be joining the already star-studded cast that include Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Sophia Loren.
She may also work together with acclaimed actress Judi Dench, who is also reported to be in talks to star in the drama musical film.
Nicole Kidman is expected to give birth in the summer, several months before the filming is scheduled to start in September 2008. It is further explained that the co-star of Hugh Jackman in forthcoming “Australia” will have her filming to be shot in the latter part of production.
Adapted from the 1982 Tony-winning Broadway musical, “Nine” is set to be helmed by “Chicago” director Rob Marshall. The film actually was set to be tackled by the late writer/director Anthony Minghella and previously scheduled to begin filming in March 2008.
‘Nine’ is a musical following a film director named Guido Contini (Javier Bardem), who is in his middle age. He is trying to complete his next film. His main problem is that he has too many women in his life. Luisa (Marion Cotillard), his wife, Carla (Penelope Cruz) his sexy mistress, and Claudia, his muse and protege.
Director: Rob Marshall
Writers: Federico Fellini, Ennio Flaiano
Coppola to shoot ‘Tetro’ in Argentina with Gallo and Bardem
“After a while I realized that I was getting further and further away from what my original intentions had been.
So at this age I decided, ‘Well, why don’t I make the kinds of films I wanted to do when I was 18? I’ll just do it later in life.’”
The 68-year-old Francis Ford Coppola explains in an interview with The Associated Press.
The five-time Oscar winner, best known for “The Godfather” trilogy about the Corleone mafia family, is preparing to shoot a film about a much different, but equally dysfunctional, Italian-immigrant clan.
“Tetro,” for which Coppola wrote an original screenplay, follows two sons of a great but monstrously self-absorbed orchestra conductor in contemporary Argentina.
Much of the film will be shot in La Boca (Argentina), a neighborhood marked by the legacy of poor Italian immigrants who arrived by the shiploads in the early 20th century.

Researching his tale, Coppola discovered many parallels between Buenos Aires and the New York he grew up in.
“Italian families emigrated to Argentina and the United States, and very often brothers in the same family would go two different directions,” Coppola explains, relaxing in the courtyard of his new home and studio, which comes complete with the steel barbecue grill no self-respecting Argentine would do without.

Javier Bardem, Best Supporting Actor
Javier Bardem has won the Best Supporting Actor for his performance as a restless killer in ‘No Country for Old Men’ at the 80th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 24.
His win gave the acclaimed crime drama film its first Oscar prize at the prestigious feature film event.
The Spanish actor was presented with his kudo by last year’s best supporting actress winner Jennifer Hudson. On his acceptance speech, the actor who was romantically linked to Penelope Cruz thanked his mother who is his date for the special night in Spanish:
‘Mamá, esto para ti, para tus abuelos, esto para los cómicos como tú que han puesto la dignidad para España’
after noting the horrible haircut he had and the faith the Coens had in him.

Prior to this win, Bardem has dominated on the category on this awards season as he won most of the prizes he were nominated for his performance in ‘No Country’.
The 38-year-old actor had previously nominated for Oscar’s best leading actor back in 2001. He was given the nod for his portrayal of Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas in ‘Before Night Falls’.
Scarlett Johansson Likes The Role
The 23-year-old beauty revealed her hotly-anticipated threesome with Penelope Cruz and Cruz’s real-life lover Javier Bardem in Woody Allen’s new film ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ was anything but sexy to shoot.
She said: “There are 60 people right there, eating, like, salami sandwiches! But it was fun, Penelope is so open and funny and cute. I just want to bite her when I see her!”
She really likes the role!
However, this isn’t the first time Penelope has pushed sexual boundaries on screen.
In the music video for her brother Eduardo Cruz’s song ‘Cosas Que Contaro?’ Penelope locked lips with a woman who was originally thought to be her sister Monica.
‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ - Hotty and Hotty
Scarlett Johansson has a steamy lesbian sex scene with Penelope Cruz in Woody Allen’s upcoming ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’.
A source tells: ‘It is also extremely erotic. People will be blown away and even shocked. Penelope and Scarlett go at it in a red-tinted photography dark room, and it will leave the audience gasping’.
The duo later have a threesome with Javier Bardem, who plays Penelope’s husband.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona tells the story of a painter who enters a relationship with two American tourists, but conflict begins with the painter’s jealous ex-girlfriend.
The film which also stars Patricia Clarkson, Rebecca Hall, Kevin Dunn and Chris Messina, has completed filming and will likely hit theaters in late-2008
Javier Bardem Suffered Depression After ‘No Country For Old Men’
Javier Bardem suffered from “full-blown depression” after having his hair styled in Oscar-nominated movie ‘No Country For Old Men’.
Bardem, who is a favourite to win the Best Supporting Actor prize at the upcoming Academy Awards for his performance in the Coen Brothers film, was so ashamed of his new look, he avoided venturing out in public.
His co-star Josh Brolin says, ‘He was depressed during the process… He felt like he wouldn’t have sex for three months. Full-blown depression. I mean, bad. (He) didn’t like the way he looked. He’d stay home for hours on end. He wouldn’t go out’.
Bardem admits he was surprised by how his unusual look affected him psychologically. He says, ‘You see yourself, you see the haircut. You don’t realise that it’s affecting you in a very delicate way, through your own psyche.’
”What happened to me was that after a couple of weeks, I was a little bit - a little bit - strange to myself. There was something that was not familiar. It was like, ‘What am I doing here?’”
