John Hurt and Tilda Swinton coming straight from Bong Joon-Ho’s Snow Piercer to join Mia Wasikowska of Albert Nobbs and War Horse actor Tom Hiddleston in the latest film from indie legend Jim Jarmusch, which now has an official title Only Lovers Left Alive.

Hiddleston has joined the cast of the director’s upcoming vampire tale, replacing Michael Fassbender, which involvement was announced during Cannes last year.

Jim Jarmusch’s Next Projects

Jim JarmuschToday, we’re here to share some information about Jim Jarmusch‘s upcoming projects, because, trust us, this director is quite busy nowadays!

So, probably the most interesting one and his highest priority at this moment is (yet) untitled “dramatic” movie that will star Tilda Swinton, Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska.

In an interview, Jarmusch revealed:

“I have a new film project that’s really foremost for me that I hope to shoot early next year with Tilda Swinton, Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska, who was Alice in Wonderland in Tim Burton’s film. I don’t have that quite financed yet, so I’m working on that.”

We must say that this cast looks great, especially with Tilda Swinton on board, because, let us remind you that this would be Swinton’s third collaboration with Jarmusch, after a supporting role in Broken Flowers and appearance in The Limits of Control.

Cannes 2008 – Jim Jarmusch will receive Carrosse d’Or (Golden Coach)

Director Jim Jarmusch will travel to the French Riviera to receive Festival de Cannes sidebar the Director’s Fortnight‘s annual “Carrosse d’Or” prize on May 17.

The lifetime achievement award, created by French directors organization the SRF in 2002, is “an homage to independence and pure cinematic genius,” organizers said Monday.

Jarmusch will receive his bronze statue at a special ceremony on May 17 and continue his Riviera romp with the celebration of the sidebar’s 40th anniversary on May 18 complete with a screening of Olivier Jahan’s “40×15.”
