Next week’s San Diego Comic Con will present us many movies and among them will also be Shane Acker’s “9.” In the meantime, new image has been released. We have also an international (French) poster for this animated sci-fi adventure produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov. Check them out below.

"9" Image

All humans are gone, and it is only by chance that 9 discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.

The group of 9 rag dolls includes “1″ (voiced by Christopher Plummer), a domineering war veteran, “2″ (Martin Landau), an aged inventor, “3 & 4″ – twins – strange dolls, unable to speak, curious but very shy, “5″ (John C. Reilly), healer, mentor, great engineer and inventor, “6″ (Crispin Glover), a wild and impulsive visionary and artist, “7″ (Jennifer Connelly) a group’s sole female, a brave and self-sufficient warrior and “9″ (Elijah Wood) good-hearted, thoughtful, and sincere. He will easily risk his own life to save others.

Directed and written by Shane Acker with co-writer Pamela Pettler, “9″ will hit the theaters on 09/9/09.

The first photo of Salma Hayek from the upcoming adventure/fantasy movie “Cirque du Freak” has been unveiled. The movie is based on the Darren Shan’s bestselling book-series for children.

Salma Hayek in "Cirque du Freak"

Hayek plays bearded lady, one of the performers at the Cirque Du Freak who can grow a beard all the way down to her feet, then suck it up again through her face as if she has no facial hair at all.

In the film, John C. Reilly plays a vampire who drafts a 14-year-old to serve as his assistant. The youth is turned into a half-vampire who breaks a 200-year truce between two warring bloodsucker factions. A young boy named Darren Shan meets a mysterious man at a freak show who turns out to be a Vampire. The vampire agrees to give him the only cure for his ill friend Steve if Darren agrees to become his assistant, and half vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak.

The first three books may be adapted for a stand alone movie, however there could be up to three sequels as the saga consisted of twelve books split into 4 trilogies.

“Cirque du Freak,” kid-friendly story, directed by Paul Weitz from the script by Brian Helgeland stars Chris Massoglia, Salma Hayek, John C. Reilly, Willem Dafoe and Josh Hutcherson.

Step Brothers

Today, we have second restricted trailer for the upcoming comedy “Step Brothers“, which brings all the laughter to theaters on July 25.

In “Step Brothers,” Will Ferrell plays Brennan Huff, a sporadically employed thirty-nine-year-old who lives with his mother, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen). John C. Reilly plays Dale Doback, a terminally unemployed forty-year-old who lives with his father, Robert (Richard Jenkins). When Robert and Nancy marry and move in together, Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as step brothers. As their narcissism and downright aggressive laziness threaten to tear the family apart, these two middle-aged, immature, overgrown boys will orchestrate an insane, elaborate plan to bring their parents back together. To pull it off, they must form an unlikely bond that maybe, just maybe, will finally get them out of the house. Continue Reading…
