Cannes 2011: We Need To Talk About Kevin Clips
I know we already had a report about this one, but trust me, We Need To Talk About Kevin once again, because we have three fresh clips from writer/director Lynne Ramsay’s project, which is, by the way, definitely one of most anticipated films of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
So, check them out, I think it deserves your attention, no romantic comedy here, just a cruel reality and a woman forced to question whether she ever loved her son and how much she is to blame for what he did.
Based on a novel by Lionel Shriver, and co-scripted by Ramsay and writer Rob Festinger, the movie follows:
John C. Reilly Has NOT Been Offered Role in The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games or The Hunger Mess? I guess that we could easily use that other title, because we just learned that previously rumored John C. Reilly will not be the part of the upcoming Gary Ross‘ adaptation of the novel written by Suzanne Collins.
At least that’s what Reilly’s rep had to say about the whole thing: “John does not have an offer. NY Mag never fact checked with anyone.”
Well, offer him the damn role!
Just in case you don’t know what role we’re talking about, all of the rumors referred to the role of Haymitch Abernathy, character described this way: “the only tribute from District 12 to ever win a Hunger Games competition. Since his victory, Haymitch has descended into alcoholism but ends up becoming a mentor to new District 12 tributes Katniss and Peeta.”
As for the rest of the cast, Jennifer Lawrence is set to star as the titular character, Katniss Everdeen; her little sister will be Willow Shields.
Cannes 2011: Lynne Ramsay’s We Need To Talk About Kevin
I know, we’re a little bit late with this one, but you’ll forgive us. We Need To Talk About Kevin is the upcoming Lynne Ramsay’s indie drama that we’ll have a chance to see among the 19 films screening In Competition at this year’s Cannes Film festival.
Definitely an interesting project that is actually an adaptation of Lionel Shriver‘s prize-winning book of the same name, which is already being described as a “powerful, controversial novel about motherhood.”
Co-scripted by Ramsay and writer Rob Festinger, the movie follows Kevin and his mother, Eva. After Kevin goes on a killing spree just days before his 16th birthday, Eva is forced to question whether she ever loved her son and how much she is to blame for what he did.
John C. Reilly in Talks to Star in The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games cast is getting even bigger than we thought. Few days ago we learned that Elizabeth Banks had joined the cast that already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Dayo Okeniyi, Amanda Stenberg and Willow Shields but today, we’re here to add another name to this list!
Actually, two, because according to the latest reports, not only John C. Reilly is in talks to join the whole thing, but we also have a lady who will play Mrs. Everdeen – a Deadwood star, Paula Malcomson!
As you already know, The Hunger Games is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins‘ novel of the same name that has been on the New York Times best seller list for over 100 consecutive weeks.
First Official Photo From Roman Polanski’s Carnage
The first photo from Roman Polanski’s new film Carnage, starring Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly, Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz, has gone online.
Carnage is based on Yasmina Reza’s Tony Award-winning drama, and it appears that Reza adapted it to screen with the help of Polanski.
Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie Starring Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Jeff Goldblum…
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are putting together a film titled Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie.
That means they have co-written and will co-direct the whole thing, and as you see from the title it will follow the two comedians, while making a movie for $1 billion dollars and the problems that arise from it.
But, before you leave this report, check this fresh update – John C. Reilly, Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Robert Loggia, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte and William Atherton are all involved in the project that’s already shooting!
New Cedar Rapids Clip
Here’s the new clip for Ed Helms‘ latest comedy movie, Cedar Rapids.
Synopsis: Tim Lippe (Helms) was the guy people always thought would go places but then he just … didn’t. He’s been living in über-sleepy Brown Valley, Wisconsin his whole life, still “pre-engaged” to his 7th grade teacher Millie Vanderhei ( Sigourney Weaver), while selling insurance to protect other people’s dreams. But now, Tim’s stalled life is about to get a kick-start because, for the first time in his 34 years, he’s headed to a “major” metropolis – Cedar Rapids, Iowa – where he must try to save his company at a do-or-die insurance convention that, for him, will be entirely nonconventional.
