Renner in You’re Not You with Swank, Thurman & Owen Go Blind
There was a phrase in the WW II, “Loose Talk Costs Lives”. Now I heard producers around the Croisette performed such talks last week. A sort of, but not exactly like last year when Amy Adams was attached to the original version of John Hillcoat’s The Wettest County, which has momentarily died then yep come back to life this year.
Well, Uma Thurman and Clive Owen are reportedly in talks to star in the drama movie Blind.
Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hardy and Shia Labeouf In John Hillcoat’s The Wettest County First Look
Yeah, we already had a little chat about John Hillcoat’s upcoming The Wettest County in the World project, but still, we’re here today for a little update! It’s time for a few set photos thanks to producer Cassian Elwes, who shared them on his Twitter. Not so good quality, as you already see, but who cares…
By now you know that The Wettest County in the World is actually an adaptation of Matt Bondurant‘s novel of the same name which centers on two brothers who become bootleggers in the American south during Prohibition.
On the other hand, you also know that the movie has great cast which includes Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Dane DeHaan and Jessica Chastain, while Nick Cave is responsible for the screenplay.
Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska Join The Wettest County in the World
Let’s get straight to the point! Gary Oldman, Guy Pierce and Mia Wasikowska have all joined the project we previously wrote about – The Wettest County in the World.
Directed by John Hillcoat, movie already stars Shia Labeuof, Tom Hardy, Dane DeHaan and Jessica Chastain. Now, with this latest casting news, it definitely sounds perfect!
Prohibition-era dramatic thriller, written by Nick Cave follows “…the Bondurants, bootlegging brothers runnin’ stills, runnin’ loads, and runnin’ from the law in Depression-era Virginia. The book is mainly narrated through the experience of the youngest Bondurant, Jack (in truth, a grandfather of the author), and his family’s moonshine enterprise supplies the action in a plot that evokes the culture of distilling and distributing white lightning.
Dane DeHaan Joins The Wettest County in the World
Dane DeHaan has joined the cast of The Wettest County in the World.
We already wrote about the upcoming John Hillcoat’s movie and just in case you’re wondering who DeHaan is, we’re here to clear things out.
He’s the guy from HBO drama In Treatment, as well as titles like Jack & Diane and True Blood.
Young actor joins the cast that already includes Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain and Jason Clarke.
From a screenplay by Nick Cave and adapted from the novel of the same name by Matt Bondurant, The Wettest County In The World follows
“…the Bondurants, bootlegging brothers runnin’ stills, runnin’ loads, and runnin’ from the law in Depression-era Virginia. The book is mainly narrated through the experience of the youngest Bondurant, Jack, and his family’s moonshine enterprise supplies the action in a plot that evokes the culture of distilling and distributing white lightning.
Jason Clarke in Wettest County in the World
We already had a little chat about this one, but it’s always the right time to see what’s new at the upcoming John Hillcoat‘s Prohibition-era film titled The Wettest County in the World based on the tome by Matt Bondurant.
So, the news goes like this – Australian actor Jason Clarke is the latest addition to this project that already stars Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy as two of three leading brothers.
Hillcoat is directing from a script by Nick Cave, adapted from Matt Bondurant’s book of the same name that follows:
“… the Bondurants, bootlegging brothers runnin’ stills, runnin’ loads, and runnin’ from the law in Depression-era Virginia. The book is mainly narrated through the experience of the youngest Bondurant, Jack, and his family’s moonshine enterprise supplies the action in a plot that evokes the culture of distilling and distributing white lightning.
To optimistic Jack, bootlegging is both a bond to his older brothers, Forrest and Howard, and a means to make cash to impress a girl. Forrest, by contrast, is taciturn and suspicious: the world is violent, and he meets it on that ground. Tender of the stills and imbiber from same, burly Howard is always ready to take on the Bondurants’ enemies, corrupt law officers.
Jessica Chastain Joins Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf for John Hillcoat’s The Wettest County in the World
The prohibition-era drama, you like the sound of that?
Well, if you do, then this is just the perfect report for you, because we have the latest update about John Hillcoat‘s The Wettest County in the World!
Actress Jessica Chastain will be joining the cast, teaming up with Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy on the big screen, in a story that goes like this:
“…in 1928, a pair of thieves accost Bondurant’s real life great-uncle Forrest at his Franklin County, Va., restaurant.
They’re after a large cache of bootlegging money and end up cutting Forrest’s throat. The story of his survival and his trek to a hospital 12 miles away has taken on mythical proportions by the time Sherwood Anderson arrives in Franklin County in 1934 to research a magazine piece on the area’s prolific moonshiners.

Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf in one movie? Hot, hot, hot!
Or should we say – wet, wet, wet?
The Wettest County in the World is an upcoming John Hillcoat‘s movie with LaBeouf and trust us, this sounds quite interesting, especially because we have great names involved in the whole thing.
So, while we’re still here let us mention that Nick Cave wrote the screenplay for the film that will follow:
“…the Bondurant Boys were a notorious gang of roughnecks and moonshiners who ran liquor through Franklin County, Virginia, during Prohibition and in the years after. Forrest, the eldest brother, is fierce, mythically indestructible, and the consummate businessman.
Shia LaBeouf in John Hillcoat’s Triple Nine?
Shia LaBeouf and director John Hillcoat are both circling the new film project Triple Nine.
And that’s not all! According to some reports, Chris Pine is another name rumored for the lead in the upcoming project based on Matt Cooke’s script.
