Sarah (Shauna Macdonald), emerges alone from a cave system following an expedition with her five friends in the Appalachian mountains. Distraught, injured and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Skeptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah’s psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines forces her back into the caves to help locate the rest of the group. Trapped by falling rocks, the rescue party are driven deep into the caverns, and as one by one the fate of the missing girls is revealed, Sarah is forced to confront her deepest fears.

IGN has debuted the trailer for horror thriller “The Descent: Part 2“

The promo trailer for the upcoming horror / thriller film “The Descent: Part 2” has been released.

As the rescue party drives deeper into uncharted caverns, nightmarish visions of the recent past begin to haunt Sarah and she starts to realize the full horror and futility of the mission. Subjected to the suspicion and mistrust of the group and confronted once more by the inbred, feral and savagely ruthless Crawlers, Sarah must draw on all her inner reserves of strength and courage in a desperate final struggle for deliverance and redemption.”
The film is directed by Jon Harris, (film editor on “Snatch”, ” Stardust” and “Kick-Ass”), starring Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Jackson Mendoza, Krysten Cummings, Gavan O’Herlihy, Joshua Dallas, Anna Skellern and Douglas Hodge.
“The Descent: Part 2″ is scheduled to hit theaters in the UK on May 15th 2009. No release date for the United States has been announced.
