Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Synopsis

Dwayne JohnsonFilming of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island has begun in Oahu, Hawaii.

As we already know, this is the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008).

Movie is directed by Brad Peyton (who was in charge for Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore) and already has Josh Hutcherson reprising his role from the first film (explorer Sean Anderson), together with Dwayne Johnson, who will play his stepfather, on a quest to find the mysterious and monster-filled island and his missing grandfather.

We all know that Brendan Fraser starred in the 2008 film, but passed on the sequel because of a scheduling conflict.

Journey 2 stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzman and Kristin Davis.

Josh Hutcherson will reprise his role as young adventurer Sean Anderson in this exciting follow-up to the 2008 worldwide hit Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, the first live-action film ever to be shot in digital 3D.

Neil Patrick HarrisNeil Patrick Harris, guy you probably remember from titles like How I Met Your Mother and Glee will direct the indie romantic comedy Aaron and Sarah, and yes, this will mark his directorial debut!

Hm, this could be something good, especially now, when we know that the title roles have been given to Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson!

Movie will follow “…a geeky guy and a popular girl who become friends as freshmen in high school and see their relationship deepen through the four years, four proms and one funeral before graduation.”

That’s not something that sounds fresh, but, if it means anything to you, the whole thing is written by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey, the team behind TV’s Pushing Daisies.

Focus Features has released a new movie poster for The Kids Are All Right.

The Kids Are All Right is the heartfelt new comedy from acclaimed director Lisa Cholodenko, starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo. Two teenaged children (Alice in Wonderland’s Mia Wasikowska and Journey to the Center of the Earth’s Josh Hutcherson) get the notion to seek out their biological father and introduce him into the family life that their two mothers (Bening and Moore) have built for them. Once the donor (Ruffalo) is found, the household will never be the same, as family ties are defined, re—defined, and re—re—defined. The New York Times raves that it’s “a generous, nearly note—perfect portrait of a modern family,” and Entertainment Weekly calls the movie “funny, smart and sexy!”

Michael CaineJourney to the Center of the Earth sequel is coming, we already know that Dwayne Johnson will star in it, and it’s good to finally hear some updates about the whole thing!

Today we’re here to announce that legendary Michael Caine is in final negotiations to join the cast of the sequel titled Journey 2: The Mysterious Island as well!

Movie will be directed by Brad Peyton (who was in charge for Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore) and already has Josh Hutcherson reprising his role from the first film (explorer Sean Anderson), together with Johnson, who will play his mom’s boyfriend, on a quest to find the mysterious and monster-filled island and his missing grandfather.

Some reports note that “it’s not a cameo and that the role will see the actor in action mode, engaging in several chase sequences, including one involving giant bees.”

So, you already guess that Caine will play the grandfather.
