Official Synopsis for THE IMPOSSIBLE Starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor
We already saw a teaser trailer for The Impossible, so by now you know that Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor are on board for the whole thing and that’s pretty much awesome for a movie which is based on one family’s survival of the 2004 tsunami.
Sounds intense, scary, and to tell you the truth, that’s just the kind of story I’ve been expecting from The Orphanage helmer Juan Antonio Bayona.
THE IMPOSSIBLE Teaser Trailer Starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts
I like this kind of stories. What can be more terrifying on a big screen than a tsunami? Snakes on a plane? Oh, please, give me break – I’m sure you’re going to love this movie!
After all, we have Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts on board and a great title – The Impossible. Check out the first teaser trailer to see why this project deserves your full attention!
Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in The Impossible
Summit Entertainment has picked up worldwide rights to The Impossible, movie based on a true story that took place during the 2004 tsunami, that hit the coast of Indonesia.
This upcoming drama stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. As you see, looks that folks from Summit are very satisfied with her work, since this would be a second Naomi Watts feature to its release slate (we guess you remember us writing about Doug Liman’s Fair Game, right?)
No big information about this one, but we know that Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) is in charge for directing the whole thing, from a script by Sergio G. Sanchez.
Juan Antonio Bayona Is Not Eclipse Director
Despite Juan Antonio Bayona being reported as the new director of the “Twilight” sequel “Eclipse,” according to The Los Angeles Times Summit Entertainment has not picked him to helm the movie.
“The Eclipse directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job,”
said Erik Feig, who’s president of production at Summit Entertainment and the man most involved with managing the hit series of films.
Juan Antonio Bayona to direct Twilight: Eclipse?
Word going around last week was that Drew Barrymore, James Mangold and Paul Weitz were al in consideration to direct Eclipse. Now that may turn out to be false as well.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Guillermo del Toro protege Juan Antonio Bayona, director of the acclaimed Spanish-lanague horror film “The Orphanage“, is one of the finalists for the gig.
Summit Entertainment declined to comment about Bayona directing the film, with a rep adding that the studio is still looking at several candidates to helm the project.
