Bradley Cooper is in early negotiations to play the lead role in remake of The Crow.

Last week was officially announced that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders – hits the theaters 7.Oct) has closed a deal to direct a re-invention of the 1994 smash hit flick centered on the comic book series and comic strip by James O’Barr. Relativity and Pressman will be joining with Spain-based Apaches Entertainment on the production which is targeted to start in autumn 2011.

Relativity Media’s President of Worldwide Production Tucker Tooley and Edward R. Pressman, the prolific producer behind The Crow franchise, announced today they have closed a deal for Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) to direct a re-invention of The Crow, the 1994 smash hit film based on the comic book series and comic strip by James O’Barr. Relativity and Pressman will be teaming with Spain-based Apaches Entertainment on the production which is targeted to start in Fall 2011.

Although the recent report on the 28 Weeks Later’s person in charge Juan Carlos Fresnadillo might create The Crow reboot, Fangoria latest news about that is another Spanish director F. Javier Gutiérrez who would be responsible for conducting.

Gutiérrez was writing and directing the sci-fi thriller Before the Fall (‘Tres Días”), of the family to survive the end of the world. Despite the fact of Gutiérrez’s not too long resume ( + two short films), he still impressed enough to shoot “The Crow” reboot, according to Fangora source. Gutiérrez is director in perspective with multiple movies in development including House of Horror, a film he is making under Insidious and Saw creator James Wan.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo To Direct Bioshock Movie

Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is in talks to direct the video game adaptation “Bioshock” for Universal Pictures.

Gore Verbinski, who dropped out of helming due to his commitment to animated movie Rango, remains the film’s producer through his Universal-based Blind Wink. Fresnadillo’s producing partner, Enrique Lopez Lavigne, is also in talks to become a producer. John Logan (Gladiator) wrote the script.
