Everybody’s Fine To Feature New Paul McCartney Song
Paul McCartney has written an original song, “(I Want To) Come Home,” for the upcoming Miramax’s new holiday dramedy “Everybody’s Fine,” starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell.
After attending an early screening of the film, McCartney felt a deep connection to the material and began writing the song that very night.
“Everybody’s Fine,” written and directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Devine), is the story of a widower (De Niro) who embarks on an impromptu road trip to reconnect with each of his grown children only to discover that their lives are far from picture perfect.
Collaborating with composer Dario Marianelli on the orchestrations, McCartney has crafted an intimate song that compliments the themes of the film and serves as a final grace note to the moving story.

Whiteout Review

“Whiteout” has a good premise and a likeable lead, but it goes rapidly downhill and is ultimately disappointing, thanks to confusing direction, an anti-climactic finale and an ‘Is that it?’ plot that makes less sense the more you think about it.
Directed by Dominic Sena (from a script credited to two different sets of brothers – never a good sign), Whiteout stars Kate Beckinsale as US Marshal Carrie Stetko, who’s taken a post at a remote research station in Antarctica in order to escape a traumatic incident in her past. As her posting nears an end, she’s considering turning in her badge, but her departure plans are put on hold by the discovery of a mysterious body on the ice… read more [ViewLondon.co.uk]
It’s all fine, as far as it goes, but that’s not very far. Beckinsale is a trim and athletic actress, but she’s not a very compelling presence, and she’s burdened by too many overdone flashbacks into her tragic past. As her avuncular best friend on the base, Tom Skerritt twinkles and collects a check. As a mysterious newcomer — and possible love interest — Gabriel Macht is every bit as exciting and memorable as he was in last year’s “The Spirit,” and yes, I’m being sarcastic here… read more [nj.com]

After two years stationed at Antarctica’s South Pole research base, lone U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) is as anxious as anyone to be going home. She’s turned in her resignation and is counting the hours and minutes to the last plane out. But three days before departure, a body turns up on the ice and Carrie is immediately thrust into Antarctica’s first murder investigation.
As the death toll mounts, the mystery deepens with shifting loyalties, deadly whiteouts, and a relentless killer who will stop at nothing to protect a secret buried for over sixty years. Now with everyone around her packing up and getting out, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is plunged into six months of darkness and she is stranded with the killer on a land where nothing comes in and no one gets out.

Michael Sheen Joins Cast of New Moon
Michael Sheen has been added to the “New Moon” cast. Sheen has been added to the cast ensemble of the “Twilight” sequel as Aro, the leader of an Italy-based vampire coven known by the name of Volturi.
Discussing the character, director Chris Weitz said:
“Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.”
Michael Sheen is a BAFTA-nominated actor for his portrayal of British Prime Minister Tony Blair in “The Queen”. Back in 2003, he had a minor role as Lucian in Kate Beckinsale-starring horror-action “Underworld”. Recently, he was seen playing David Frost in Academy Award-nominated “Frost/Nixon”. He will soon be seen portraying football manager Brian Clough in “The Damned United“.
Sheen will join a cast that includes Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Tyson Houseman and Jamie Campbell-Bower.
