Kevin Bacon’s New X-Men: First Class Role

Sebastian Shaw, character from X-Men First ClassKevin Bacon is now officially the “villain” member of the X-Men: First Class cast, only this time there we have a new rumor!

Previously mentioned role of Mister Sinister is no longer in the game and looks that Bacon will play Sebastian Shaw in the upcoming Matthew Vaughn’s movie.

“Sebastian Shaw possesses the ability possesses the ability to absorb kinetic energy and transform it into raw strength. He is the leader of the New York branch of the Hellfire Club, an exclusive secret society bent on world domination, although to the public, he is a legitimate businessman and ordinary human.

Shaw absorbs the energy of any blow he is struck by, not just punches, but bullets, and to a less successful degree, concussive energy beams, notably Cyclops’ optic blasts.

He is capable of absorbing the cutting, piercing and thrusting energy from a blade which makes it exceedingly difficult to cut or stab him with sharp edged weapons.

Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in X-Men: First Class

Winter’s Bone star Jennifer Lawrence has been cast as Mystique in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: First Class.

This means that 19-year-old Lawrence will step into the role that Rebecca Romijn played in the first three X-Men movies.

In addition to that, it looks that all previously rumored cast: Alice Eve, Caleb Landry Jones and Aaron Johnson are still in the game!

X-Men: First Class following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time.

Kevin BaconJust in case you haven’t had enough of X-Men: First Class news, we’re here to share the latest one with you! Kevin Bacon has been offered the role of the villain in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming movie.

Now, please don’t ask us what that villain is, because we had enough of character – rumors for one week! Ok, we’re joking! There are speculations that Bacon will play Mister Sinister.

So, until something official comes, let’s see who this Mister is:

“Mister Sinister is a genetically altered human with superhuman physical and mental abilities. Mister Sinister was granted powers through genetic alterations by Apocalypse, and throughout the years has used genetic material from other mutants to grant himself a truly vast array of superhuman abilities.

Thomas Dekker in Footloose Remake?

Thomas DekkerFinally something new about Footloose remake! Thomas Dekker seems to be the latest top candidate to play Bacon’s classic character from the original film. Sounds good?

We all remember this 22-year-old actor from Nightmare on Elm Street remake, so maybe he could be just the perfect guy to play Ren McCormak, a “dance-happy outsider who shakes up a small town” well-known character from the 1984 original.

So what do we actually know about this project so far? We know that Hustle and Flow director Craig Brewer has signed on to direct a remake for Paramount, the project that initially had been set up for High School Musical director Kenny Ortega and envisioned as a lighter, musical-theater-style piece.

Marisa Tomei and Josh Groban Join Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon For Untitled Comedy

Marisa TomeiMusician Josh Groban and Marisa Tomei have joined the cast of a marital crisis comedy starring Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Analeigh Tipton.

Crazy Stupid Love was previous title for new comedy but now the movie is back to being Untitled.

Why did they change the title? It’s the perfect one for the story which sounds like this:

The story centers on a father (Carell) whose life unravels as he deals with spousal problems and tries to manage his relationship with his children.

Carell will play a dad whose cheating wife (Moore) left him, and Gosling is the slick bachelor, a life coach who tries to reform him. Bacon plays Moore’s co-worker, who begins an affair with her.

Stone will portray the daughter of Carell’s character and the love interest to Gosling’s character.

Frost/Nixon Poster

Poster for the upcoming Ron Howard-directed “Frost/Nixon” film is unveiled.

The film is based on the popular Broadway production, by the same name, and focuses on interview Nixon gave, post-resignation, to English journalist David Frost. Nixon spoke about the Watergate scandal during the sessions, which aired in 1977.

Oscar-winning director Ron Howard brings to the screen writer Peter Morgan‘s (“The Queen,” “The Last King of Scotland”) electrifying battle between Richard Nixon, the disgraced president with a legacy to save, and David Frost, a jet-setting television personality with a name to make, in the untold story of the historic encounter that changed both: “Frost/Nixon.” Reprising their roles from Morgan’s stageplay are Frank Langella, who won a Tony for his portrayal of Nixon, and Michael Sheen, who fully inhabited the part of Frost onstage in London and New York.

Take a look at the promo trailer for “New York, I Love You” from the producer of “Paris, je t’aime” that opened the 2006 ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the Cannes Film Festival.

“New York, I Love You” is a collection of 12 short films that will be a cinematic love letter to the Big Apple.

Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are making their directorial debuts and helming their own segments. Portman also plays a Jewish bride.

Shia LeBeouf with Julie Christie and John Hurt is in a segment scripted by the late Anthony Minghella, which he was also set to direct until his death. He is replaced by Shekhar Kapur.

Universal has officially released the first trailer and new images for upcoming political drama “Frost/Nixon“.

Adaptation of the hit Peter Morgan (The Queen, The Other Boleyn Girl) play based on a series of televised interviews that David Frost secured with former President Nixon in 1977. The final interview ended with Nixon tacitly admitting his guilt regarding his role in the Watergate scandal. Frank Langella and Michael Sheen are reprising their Broadway roles as Nixon and Frost, respectively. Kevin Bacon will play Nixon’s chief of staff Jack Brennan.
