Matt Damon and Ben Affleck for Kevin Smith’s Hit Somebody?
Kevin Smith will try to convince both Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to appear on his next film Hit Somebody. And he “would even put a stick in Willis’(Bruce) hand!”
Kevin Patrick Smith, well known to viewers as Silent Bob, has been chatting to MTV about the work coming at once on his next (and last?) movie which is a hockey drama-comedy based on the song “Hit Somebody (The Hockey Song)” by Warren Zevon. The song, which is about a hockey player renowned for his fighting on the ice rink, was co-written by Tuesdays With Morrie author Mitch Albom, who is co-working with Smith on the film. Smith lately announced that Nicholas Braun (acted in Red State) had been cast in the lead character of Buddy McCracken. At the Sundance premiere of ‘Red State”, Smith also revealed that ‘Hit Somebody” will be the last movie he ever directs.

What we need to prove is that anyone can release a movie. Indie film isn’t dead, it just grew up. It is just indie film 2.0 now. In indie film 2.0, we don’t let them sell our movie, we sell our movie ourselves.”
Red State Character Poster #7: Mordechai
The seventh poster from Kevin Smith‘s first horror film Red State has arrived. The poster shows James Parks as “Mordechai”, one of the crazy clan members.
Here’s Sundance’s Red State synopsis: “Ever since Clerks (cowinner of the Filmmakers Trophy at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival), Kevin Smith has been known for his sharp, subversive, comedic writing. He shifts from comedy to horror with Red State and aptly demonstrates that good writing transcends genre.
Red State begins by following three horny high-school boys who come across an online ad from an older woman looking for a gang bang. Boys being boys, they hit the road to satisfy their libidinal urges. But what begins as a fantasy takes a dark turn as they come face-to-face with a terrifying “holy” force with a fatal agenda.

Red State Trailer – Mysterious Horror
Kevin Smith finished filming his mysterious movie Red State (in the works for ages) two months ago (according to his blog). To whet the whistle, Smith also released teaser posters and trailer. Smith’s exhilaration of the project, the outstanding cast (John Goodman, Melissa Leo, Kevin Pollak, and Anna Gunn) and provoking Baptist-horror theme lead to the question: Is this Kevin Smith’s come back? After the Dogma (a 1999 mumblecore with ideas) – the mixture of Smith’s messy preferences – comic books, drugs with a sly, expansive vision of the spiritual universe.
