Lindsay Lohan Fired ‘Manson Girls’ Movie

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been fired from a forthcoming film about Charles Manson.
The actress was due to star in independent movie ‘The Manson Girls‘ – playing Nancy Pitman, one of the cult followers of the notorious Manson who was convicted of seven counts of murder in 1971 – but was dropped after other actors refused to work alongside her.
The 21-year-old actress signed up for the movie in March and was due to start shooting in Los Angeles in July.
Manson masterminded a series of gruesome murders including that of pregnant actress Sharon Tate, the then-wife of director Roman Polanski. He is now 73 and serving a life sentence for first-degree murder in jail.
Nancy Pitman – who was known as Brenda when she was part of the ‘Manson Family’, the nickname given to his followers – ran away from her wealthy family home in Malibu, California, at the age of 16 to be with Manson.
While she didn’t participate in the murders, she is believed to have accompanied Manson to the scene of the crime afterwards to help remove evidence. Continue Reading…
Razzie Awards 2008 : Celebrating The Worst Of The Worst!
Hot on the shoe leather of all those heaving bosoms, over priced dresses and self congratulatory back patting that made up this years Oscars comes a celebration at the other end of the quality scale, and one which we’d all surely have suggested more than a few contenders.
The Razzies, now in it’s 28th year celebrates the biggest bilge to have spewed forth onto our cinema screens over the course of the last year and by crikey, there was plenty of it!
Tempted as I am to take the first trans-Atlantic flight and insist on ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ being re factored into the line up, it’s poor old Lindsay Lohan who’s stormed the trophy stock this year with her gloriously bad train wreck of a horror, ‘I Know Who Killed Me’. The lass takes three Razzie awards personally while the film itself takes a further five.
Phew! I’ve not seen this myself but I think the safe advice is to avoid like a nest of Aliens!
Here’s the full list and yes, no doubt like you, I can think of another 30 or so that should be on there. Let us know what you think should have been on there via the forum. Continue Reading…
Lindsay Lohan, Teenage Drama Queen Joins Jack Black Comedy ‘Ye Old Times’
This week’s most Googled nude celebrity, Ms Lindsay Lohan, has signed on the dotted line to appear in the Jack Black comedy “Ye Old Times” (funnily enough, that was the name of the outfit place that my wife and I got our wedding attire from back in the day).
E Online says the flick follows two rival Renaissance Faire troupes as they make their way through the competitive circuit.
Among the all-star support cast are Elvis’s one-time squeeze Ann-Margret, “Tripper” David Arquette, Cary Elwes and Orlando Jones (”Evolution”).
Lohan’s last performance was, well, chasing an innocent woman down a Los Angeles street in her car. She won raves for it.
Lindsay Lohan From Superheroes To “Alice In Wonderland”?
In early December, strange photographs of a gorgeous Lindsay Lohan posing in Hollywood alongside some legendary superheroes cropped up in paparazzi pictures. Back then, it was assumed that she was doing a commercial.
Now, it’s been revealed that those photos were part of a shoot for a March Harper’s Bazaar cover story. And though she posed alongside Batman’s buddy, Robin, Spiderman, and the Hulk in the pics, it hasn’t stopped Lindsay from dreaming about playing a fellow legendary character on screen – Alice from “Alice in Wonderland.”
In the new cover story, Lohan said she is desperate to take on the role of Alice in the project being directed by Tim Burton. She’s hoping to get a meeting with him soon in her attempt to secure the role.
“I hope they don’t want an unknown,” she told the magazine.
One place Lindsay herself hopes to be somewhat unknown, is in a relationship. She revealed that she’d quite like to have a romance away from the prying eye of the paparazzi lens.
Lohan proud of razzed movie
Despite receiving nine Razzie nominations, Lindsay Lohan says she’s proud of her movie ‘I Know Who Killed Me.’
The 21-year-old star’s flop performance in the movie – in which she plays both a schoolgirl and her stripper alter-ego – earned two nominations in the Worst Actress category at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2008.
The awards recognise the worst films and performances of the last 12 months.
Lohan is adamant she did a great job and enjoyed working with director Chris Siverston.
“I played a schizophrenic.
It was so draining but I loved working with Chris,” Lohan said.
“He helped me give a performance I didn’t think I was capable of.
I’ve already told him I’ll be in anything he directs.”
Last year, Lohan claimed she had been given an acting talent and wanted to use it to the best of her ability.
“I will never leave the industry. I’m here to stay. My talent is a gift and I’m going to use it in the right ways,” she said.
Lohan, Murphy lead Razzie nominations
Lindsay Lohan and Eddie Murphy lead the pack in the nominations for the 28th annual Golden Raspberry awards.
The Razzies, which recognise the worst films of the previous year, saw nine nods for Lohan’s thriller I Know Who Killed Me and eight for Murphy’s comedy Norbit.
Both stars played multiple characters in the films and are shortlisted for worst screen couple along with their alter-egos.
Murphy was nominated for worst actor, supporting actress (as Norbit’s wife), supporting actor (Mr Wong) and worst screenplay for co-writing the movie, as well as worst screen couple opposite either of his other roles.
Razzies founder John Wilson explained: “We decided that each of his characters was so offensive that he deserved individual nominations.”
He also blasted I Know Who Killed Me, calling it “the most fabulously brainless movie since Showgirls”.
He added: “By the end of it, you still don’t know what happened. Are they twins or aren’t they? Did she imagine it? Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?”
