By Nick Martin | Jan 10, 2012 | Movie News (0) Comment

Lindsay Lohan

Well, this is not a bitter joke — Lindsay Lohan may be headed back to Hollywood to play Elizabeth Taylor, with her clothes on, of course.

Therefore, she doesn’t need taking any necklace from a jewelry store if this deal come true.

Jokes aside, Lohan is in early talks to play Liz in a Lifetime Network movie that has been in the works since May.

Riley Keough in Steven Soderbergh’s MAGIC MIKE Instead of Lindsay Lohan?

By Fiona | Aug 19, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Riley KeoughWhenever you have some hot guys in one movie, you immediately have one good looking chick who’s trying to spoil everything!

So,we have Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Matt Bomer all on board to star in the upcoming Steven Soderbergh‘s stripper movie titled Magic Mike.

But, all of the sudden, according to the latest reports, we have Riley Keough on board as well. See, I told you so! There’s no justice in this world…

As I previously reported, Magic Mike is loosely based on Tatum’s own experiences as a male stripper in Tampa.

Reid Carolin wrote the script for the whole thing, and according to director Soderbergh, he will use Saturday Night Fever as a model while crafting this film.

Tatum will play Magic Mike, an experienced dancer who teaches a younger apprentice, Mr. Pettyfer, the tricks of the trade at the exotic club Xquisite, run by Dallas (McConaughey). Of course, Bomer is expected to play a male stripper as well.

Matt Dillon Joins Malin Akerman in Linda Lovelace Biopic Inferno

By Nick Martin | May 17, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Matt Dyllon - Inferno

Matt Dillon was wearing a black leather jacket in Drugstore Cowboy, when he went on to meet his love interest, Rachel, which gained him a reputation for being a teenage idol. Linda Lovelace, the daughter of a policeman, was famous for her deep-throat performance in the successful 1972 hardcore porn film of the same name.

Now we have a situation where a pair of tragic porn-star biopics is in the works: one has Kate Hudson as Lovelace, with James Franco circling around the role of Chuck Traynor, her ex-husband, who she later accused of forcing her into porn through sadistic violence. The other, 2008 Black Listed script Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, had another troubled starlet, Lindsay Lohan, replaced with Watchmen star Malin Akerman back in November. And abovementioned Oscar nominee Matt Dillon will reportedly play the same pornographer Chuck Traynor.

Lindsay Lohan in Gotti: Three Generations or NOT?

By Fiona | May 13, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

John A. Gotti and Lindsay LohanLet’s all guess – will Lindsay Lohan star in the upcoming Barry Levinson’s Gotti: Three Generations? I have no idea, and actually – I don’t care as long as Al Pacino is in the whole thing.

But for all Lohan’s fans out there – here’s the thing. Apparently, now when Levinson is on board to direct (and not Nick Cassavetes), Lohan is no longer attached to star as (previously reported) Gotti Jr.’s wife.

Here’s what Levinson revealed:

“I didn’t say definitively…someone said to me about Lindsay Lohan and I said, to be honest with you right now, I’m sort of so busy that I have to go sit down and write the piece, and I know her name has been mentioned in relationship to it but right now my focus is trying to just simply write it as opposed to dealing with the specifics of her and the role.”

But, in an interview with The Wrap, producer of the movie, Marc Fiore, revealed:

“Lindsay Lohan is a talented and beautiful actress, she is in the film and will be playing the role of Kim Gotti.”

Well, of course I expect to see Al Pacino in Gotti: Three Generations! And I’m happy to hear that he will reunite with director Barry Levinson once again (they previously worked together in You Don’t Know Jack).

Wait, Barry Levinson? Oh, yeah, you already know that previously reported Nick Cassavetes is no longer attached to direct the upcoming biopic. So, what else do I have to share with you? (beside the fact that Travolta’s whole family is attached to star in this project).

I’m glad I was away when these rumors appeared online, because now I can finally report that Lindsay Lohan is going to be the part of the upcoming project titled Gotti: Three Generations, that we already wrote about.

Apparently, during the day there were rumors that she has dropped out of the role of Victoria Gotti, but now, THR confirmed that she will join the project, and that she will now play the wife of John Gotti Jr.

So, last week we had a little chat about the whole thing, but I’m sure you already know that Nick Cassavetes will not be in charge for directing the biopic after all.

Machete Review

By Allan Ford | Sep 3, 2010 | Movie Reviews (1) Comment

Machete

Machete’’ began life as one of the fake trailers in “Grindhouse,’’ the 2007 Rodriguez-Quentin Tarantino collaboration that allowed both directors to pay homage to their splattery ’70s drive-in roots. Part of the gag was seeing Trejo, an ex-con and boxer who since the mid-’80s has been a visual signifier of extreme threat in the corner of over 140 movies, pretend to have a shot at a lead role. The far better gag is that Trejo holds the center of the expanded “Machete’’ beautifully, his death-whisper voice and that unforgettable slab of a face, etched with creases and sin, providing an anchor for the supporting stars to wheel around.

It’s fitting that Machete originated as a trailer, albeit a fake one, attached to Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s ’70s-exploitation-movie homage Grindhouse. Trailers routinely assemble the most exciting parts of a movie into a two-minute punch, and in trailer form, the spectacularly violent adventures of a Mexican vigilante, driven home by subterranean-deep narration, certainly looked like one hell of an awesome movie. But a trailer isn’t a film, and in producing the feature-length version of Machete, Rodriguez and co-director Ethan Maniquis haven’t made the necessary adjustments. They try to make Machete into an extended trailer that’s all best parts, stitched together by a sloppy, needlessly convoluted plot and a lot of bluntly explicit messaging on the immigration issue. It’s often stylish and exciting, but the pile-up of cool kills, hot bodies, and other unprocessed bits of juvenilia doesn’t add up to a good time…read more [A.V.Club]
