Dimension Films Acquires ‘How To Defeat Your Own Clone’
Dimension Films announced today that it has acquired the rights to the popular futuristic comedy guidebook How To Defeat Your Own Clone written by Kyle Kurpinski and Terry D. Johnson. Ed Ricourt who wrote the feature treatment is also set to adapt the script. Ricourt was part of the Marvel writing program, and his script Now You See Me is currently in pre-production, starring Jesse Eisenberg and to be directed by Louis Leterrier. In the year 2013 the first human clone was created and within years clones were in most homes only to be taken advantage of by their human owners and treated as slaves. Following a revolution, civil war erupted between Mankind and their Clone creations who were fighting for their freedom. The Clones won. In this new world where Clones dominate, we follow Ethan on his quest to turn the tide of the war back in our favor against impossible odds. Clones may have the same DNA blueprint as humans, but they are younger, stronger, healthier and more evolved. Is Mankind prepared to outsmart and defeat their own clones?
‘Clash of the Titans’ Director Boards ‘Now You See Me’
Louis Leterrier has confirmed with The Playlist that he will direct Now You See Me for Summit Entertainment.
Boaz Yakin (Prince of Persia, Remember The Titans) and Ed Ricourt wrote the screenplay while Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Eagle Eye, Star Trek) are producing. Yakin and Bobby Cohen will executive produce.
After gaining an early experience on martial arts based action films like The Transporter and Unleashed, Louis Leterrier walked on top of the water and turned The Incredible Hulk in a moderate hit while his Clash of the Titans remake became a global sensation. Once the film grossed nearly a half billion dollars worldwide, the French filmmaker was informally being considered to follow up with the James Cameron produced Fantastic Voyage remake, which ultimately went to Shawn Levy, but has officially selected Summit Entertainment’s developing crime thriller “Now You See Me.”
Now You See Me involves an FBI squad in a deadly game of cat and mouse on the trail of an amazing team of the world’s greatest illusionists, who do well a series of daring bank heists during their performances and showers the profits on to their audiences while staying one step ahead of the law. They’re like modern day Robin Hoods, except they take from wise people who put their money in banks, and give to rich people who waste their money buying tickets to expensive magic shows.
Clash of the Titans Review

Considerably departing from both the original myth and its 1981 cult classic progenitor, Louis Leterrier‘s remake of “Clash of the Titans” proves a disheartening disappointment. Flat and inconsistent, there is considerable effort on display here but no clear sense of where it is all meant to go or what it truly hopes to achieve. The result is a few admirable elements are lost amidst a cacophony of digital set pieces, horrendous scripting, and a grim self-serious tone that’s more laborious than engrossing…read more [DarkHorizons]
Nostalgia is a strange and powerful thing. Take the 1981 adventure epic Clash of the Titans, for example. For years it sat on the shelves, a film of interest only to A) those who’d seen it as children, B) those who want a really silly refresher course on Greek mythology, and C) hardcore movie nerds who worship at the altar of special effects legend Ray Harryhausen. Titans was neither reviled as insipid nor adored like a Jason and the Argonauts (deservedly) is — but Clash of the Titans certainly had its place among the swords & sandals epics… read more [Cinematical]
